Ok this song is amazing and beautiful but can we all admit that any beach boys comparisons made from here on out will be completely warranted?

Holy crap it was hard to keep up with those lyrics...but they're amazing! Just when I thought they might slow things down, they sped it up way faster than ever. The quick trade off also reminds me a lot of WCWR.
"I Frankenstein java with touches of Prada" - damn, that's good!

Portner calls “really short songs: no B.S, get in, get out material…”

damn that's their shortest LP then I think. not complaining though, some of my fav albums are right around or under 40 min, and this is a nice change up from the string of double LPs since Sung Tongs

Don't wait and torture yourself. Just listen. Especially since it's the first track. You'll feel better.

Real talk: I couldn't have optimistically and realistically hoped for much more at this stage of their development.
Their vocal interplay is the focus again. There's some unusual and varied delivery like the 'fucking good old days'. It's got that itchy energy. It's similar in feel to stuff like Peacebone and Applesauce, which is a really good thing. It's immediate but there seems to be some depth to it harmonically, lots of interesting little bits.
It's repetitive but each section is quite distinct melodically, I think the verses are absolutely fantastic, really so great, and the bridge takes it up a gear before the chorus which is big and daft but great fun. I get what Sonic is saying, it's poppier than anything they've ever done but in the sense that you could imagine kids dancing to it, not because it uses the contemporary pop palette.
OK back to cummin in my bin

avoiding songs is just kinda silly IMO but do yo thäng, whatevers u gotta do bro
Floridada sounds soooo good. It is so sunny I didn't expect it to be for some reason, immediate references are closer to MPP or Down there, I only listened once but it appears the lyrics are so fucking dense. really seems like they are gonna hit the JOY genre even harder than MPP this time around and I just cant fucking wait

Sonic calling this album a "joybang" before they even started recording was so prescient. Perfect word for it.

i can't keep up with the lyrics and i love it!
also i wonder if they had to pay for that 'wipe out' sample? it's short but an instantly recognizable part of the song.

In love. If Florida doesn't have a new theme song out of this, they're not doing it right.
I digress, these lyrics though:
Mail me a note
Sent from a world
That isn’t so far
And always right here
Where all the boundaries
Have disappeared
And all the nights
Are stitched with a glue
That’s sticking to me
And I’ll stick to you
I’ll take your hands
You’ll take my face
And everywhere home will
be a good place
Damnit Domino Mart, LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY

haven'ted listened yet but i did see the release time, it is exciting, i remember wondering for some reason, there are times in earlier versions and just in listening where sometimes the words in Monkey riches seem to be monkey and red; as the whole song sounds like something melting through from the future, like a time anomlay.
The album will be released at the beginning of a Fire Monkey year in the Chinese zodiac.

if I had to describe it to people who haven't listened yet, using previous songs, I'd choose 'water curses'.
