getting in on the oddsac discussion:

i don't consider oddsac the follow up to mpp, not because it's a visual album (i think that's a weak argument) but because they'd been working on oddsac for years if i remember correctly, certainly pre-mpp and maybe even as far back as like 2005 (can someone back me up on this?). so although i'd totally group it in with all the other studio albums, it doesn't feel right to me to put it in between mpp and chz chronologically because i'm guessing a lot of that material could have been written pre-mpp for all we know

It's unarguably not the follow-up to MPP. Not even worth discussing. Let's not fight, lads, just one more night's sleep! I'm hoping that it's released when I wake up in ten hours so I can blast it on the way to work.

I keep trying to imagine what their 'first true pop song' will sound like and I just end up repeating the word Floridada in Avey's voice in my head. Sounds completely dumb. Looking forward to not having to do that

Yes, they've worked for 4 years on ODDSAC. But it makes me think about the "dark" atmosphere of Transverse Temporal Gyrus and Fall Be Kind, so I think it has been released at the right time. I would have loved another album with those kind of sounds.

Tomorrow is such an emotional day for me. My best friend I've spent all my days with (both home and work) for the past 6 months leaves for Ottawa tomorrow and isn't coming back.

Then I get a new AC song to cry happy tears to when I'm off work.

I was poking around the UK version of the domino records site on my phone and when I searched for animal collective this picture came up...

I cannot get it on any other version of the website or on my computer but i think it may be a new promo picture of the band for the new album. Notice the lack of deakin which makes sense for the upcoming record.

They are archetypal portrayals of the lads we've known to be so mystifying and ever-changing.

I don't think they're exact depictions of our boys but I'm sure it's photos of each of them just highly altered to be disorienting.
