What's the best boot for early/acoustic versions of Feels tracks?

Also, what's this "Together" show that lots of people mention on other forums? Thanks!

the early feels shows from 2004 are all really weird and great. there was a european tour in april with really aggressive weird versions of the songs in sort of a transitional period (kids on holiday is the only song that i really wish had been on another album, it was great on feels tours) and then they start leveling out by august and going into 2005.

the only acoustic feels performances i can think of are the rock herk show in 2006 when they had to stop a performance early after deakin's father passed away and a 2005 avey+kria/doctess radio performance. thesongs were pretty mature by that point.

together is panda bear and rusty santos, filed under pb in the op.

e: the converse to this is that you should also listen to the 2003 electric versions of sung tongs tracks, which i guess are pretty much limited to the "2003-??-??" unlabeled boots

Awesome, thanks for the quick response! Can you point me to the best quality boot from the early Feels shows in '04 as a starting point? I'm excited to check them out!

i think the european shows are all kind of a tossup but it's definitely worth hearing 206 (a redone version of 'ice cream factory' played in paris). i'm listening to the london show right now which is a little more mellow than the others maybe?

it's weird to think about them being this band that was switching between sounds so frequently—2004 has as many great acoustic performances as it does electric ones

fwiw the only one i have is 2006-04-12 at The Stone. i guess that doesn't really have any unreleased material though? i think i remember the amherst show sounding okay, but there aren't really very many. download em, skip around, and keep one you like

e: also i never did reuploads after the mind-blowing revelation that it's "Welsses" not "Wellses" so please fix that yourself!

good q brint. the screams are so ridiculous that sometimes I just have to laugh. but also in the right setting the song creeps me out a lot

always thought tuvin sounded like it could be a sun city girls song

they're preforming in such a silly way it must have some sense of humor behind it..i mean its a deep scary song in the right context im sure, but i guess when its being preformed live or out of context there is something else to it. l love it, i think its funny

also they preform it first in the che cafe recording, i can see how preforming a song like that first would rid yourself of any nerves about preforming the rest of your songs. seems like a good way to break yourself into a set

Knitting Factory is definitely the best complete recording, though it's worth checking out the video from the Metro Gallery too

God, those shows were so awesome

Thanks for the help jfw7. And yea, I remember it being solid as well Slippi. I listened to it probably twice when it first came out. The Crimson opener and Bluish both stood out

I'm trying to get a tally of all the authorized/"professionally" recorded Grim Reaper performances...from my count we have:

- Pitchfork 2015
- MOMA Boiler Room Set
- Morning Becomes Electric, KCRW
- The Red Bull recording from Music Hall of Williamsburg

...what am I missing? I seem to recall another streaming video, but I can't put my finger on it.

Panda did a couple of tracks live on BBC when the album dropped

Anyone know which PB recording is the "ATP rehearsal" that people keep talking about on the EP thread? I never heard the GR boots and now I feel like I'm missing out

Oh man thank you sooo much!! I've been wanting this for soo long!! .. it's definitely one of my favorite performances by them! Like I said, I wish they'd release that as DVD. That stage setup was soo amazing and the amount of people that were there too!! That's got to be one of the biggest shows they played.
I got another another question... Out of the 2007 , 08 and 09 recordings ..which shows have good quality sounding recordings ? I tried a couple of them last night and they were really bad ...any suggestions on which ones to get?

panda bear at the bowery room in 2007 is total heat... love that set. Another fantastic one is their 2007 bbc set.

Little ramble about panda bear song-making timelines: 2004 was the beginning of work on person pitch material... same time as jane was active and they were (i think) finishing up feels. he had bros and search for delicious, as well as bonfire of the vanities and laughed for a world... the two main person pitch throw aways. End of 2004/early 2005 he had take pills ready... he didn't really tour at all (solo) in 2005 or '06, and in that time they made strawberry jam, so he wrote derek, #1, and chores in that time. both #1 and chores were first performed in early 2006 by the whole band and i'm not sure when they actually sat down and wrote that album... probably in late 2005?? derek wasn't performed ever before the album release so I'm not sure. by 2007 he'd made comfy in nautica, and finished up the rest of person pitch that year (2006)... that's a long album cycle wow. By mid 2007 he had my girls and brother sport as well... so pretty much that's all of his material up through mpp. sorry for the ramble, just really interested as to the origins of all these songs and during what times they wrote them. Like i saw that post that avey made on here a long time ago where he talked about a tour in europe where panda was acting odd and made people call him edgar, i'm trying to relate that to like what stuff he was writing at that time... or what he wrote when his dad died (all of young prayer right?)
