I like the latin influenced rhythm and the vocals are pretty charming. Some of the more extraneous elements, like that feminine vocal sample, could probably be shaved off for the better but it's a good effort nonetheless.

interesting...
this reminds me, does anyone have a really crazy cover of Mr. Noah from 2014, where a wirey guy on youtube played these really big acoustic chords and sang it at a lower tempo in a helium voice...can't seem to find it

After the show Bradford said he wanted to take me on tour with Deerhunter and Kurt Vile and we should hang out the next day which I somehow fucked up by being a too stoned and awkward dude and that never happened.

I was shocked years later to get the email asking me to open for Noah for a week in Europe. I didn't and don't have a booking agent and wasn't able to negotiate a reasonable fee. I did pass on a couple of Portugal dates that would have further drained my bank account, though they later, when it was too late, offered a little more money for the those two dates and I kind of wish I had done them. Europe tour lost me thousands of dollars and I made more money for playing headline shows for 80 people there than I did opening up for Noah to a crowd of 1500. After that tour I was depressed for a long time and felt like a chump and shitty father and a failed musician. This is I would say only slightly different than I am feeling these days haha

this heavily resonates with me.

I was gonna ask why you use a backing track instead of live drums, but then kinda answered my own question ..

Thanks for hanging around dude!

wow really cool to hear those versions. I could hear the stuttering guitar chords in the final version of Situations in Love and I always wondered if that song was built off of samples or a part that you recorded, so I guess it was a bit of both

That's shitty about the sample clearance issues. I actually think I like the re-recorded versions better, although those Dennis Wilson drums are gloriously uneven

Awesome. thanks for sharing man. really neat to randomly see you show up on this board, having been a fan of your music for some time

cool to read your story too. sorry you had such an experience. whatever you do, don't think of yourself as a failed musician.... if the people posting on this board are any proof, your music definitely doesn't go unappreciated hahah

edit: btw, nice Mr Noah cover

Hey that's me! It was really cool talking to you. I remember finding you way back on the States Rights compilation Bro Zone. I used to play it all the time at the coffee shop I used to work at. Glad to see you made it on here. I would love to see you again at some point.

whoa, super rad to see you on here! i think it was CommunismOnToast who first introduced me to you, way back on the old CA3 board. if i'm correct, then it's largely because of him that you have a lot of fans on here. he (or someone) posted about All On Y'all when it came out and it completely blew my mind. listening to that and going through all of the stuff on twankle and glisten was a pretty amazing musical experience.

hope i get the opportunity to see you live someday. thanks for sharing all the stories. your new record is so good.
