oh and i met nora (this is me hi nora)
the opener caught me off guard lol and also their whole set i was stuck behind drunk attention-seeking tall dudes who were only there for the opener
after that the crowd was just so awkwardly still and quiet!! ugh! and i was front and center
also panda had a little coughing fit... cant remember when it started but he didnt sing the last few lines of surfers hymn because he was leaning over coughing

" and i felt like people were judging me for dancing "
...F 'em...let them readjust their scarves and check their twitter feeds...i was shaking my ass the entire show way in the back to the side of the bar, kickin' up a cloud of dust in the process...LOVING it!
...also - i ran upstairs before the show to try and finally introduce myself to DaD but wound-up running into Avey instead...but someone in my dictionary was already up to no good so i never found the special words i should...so i awkwardly shook his hand and said "thanks"...and then blurted-out "FANTAS-TICO!" before walking away...
...(shaking my head in shame ever since)...

For the love of God, please tell me DaD recorded tonight... My ex was there and she sent me a bunch of videos and they played Cosplay. And I'm pretty sure it is some fusion of the old version (with the sample) and the new one and it seems so beautiful. I really hope that was recorded.

i FREAKED OUT when he started cosplay. it was so good. definitely had the studio version outro type thing. so happy. today's set that i saw was great in general, was really glad he did faces too.
i had to get there a little late due to cmj stuff, so i probably missed the first few songs, but since people were asking for a setlist, the part i caught was:
butcher baker candlestick maker
faces in the crowd
principe real
come to your senses
tropic of cancer
cosplay
acid wash
encore:
alsatian darn
scheherazade
surfer's hymn

altho EVERYONE TALKS DURING TOC WHY
^waaat why, i can't even imagine that... when i saw him at warsaw in brooklyn it was so quiet during tropic that when a roadie knocked over a beer back stage it was so fucking loud and everyone laughed lol. surprised the crowd would be so different in the same city, maybe it has to do with seeing him pre-album release vs post-album release

also it's a cmj show so full of industry lameos.
there were definitely some lame people but what can you do. the crowd hasn't prevented me from enjoying either night.
can anyone fill in the first part of the setlist? curious what i missed.

...he opened with Boys Latin...THAT much i remember...it was all pretty much sonic gravy in my head after that...
...terrible crowd where i was posted-up last night vs. night 1 though...either shut the fuck up or take it to the lounge downstairs...
...and i totally agree with the warsaw show by comparison too...that was one of the most respectful AC-related crowds i've ever had the pleasure of being a part of...

so if the 'playing everything from the grim reaper era' statement that sonic made is true then tonight he should play lonely wander AND OG faces, should be some show!

day 1: noah seemed palpably excited, a little more bouncy on stage than sometimes. strobes pretty eye killing but it made for a good closed eye experience. PC worship were horrible. ny crowds are the worst

i thought the crowd was better night 3, but it all just depends on where you stand i think.
also surfer's hymn is such a great closer. it sounds so huge and just keeps comin at ya. so good.
