Thanks for this. I would rather listen to Las Ketchup than hear it again.

Well this is uncharacteristically amateur. Usually AnCo remixes totally design a song but this sounds like two different audio tracks playing simultaneously. The slower segments at the start and finish were sort of interesting but they don't mesh with the middle whatsoever. And that beat drop was the most awkward transition I've ever heard him do.
He's capable of much better than this. Shame...

Not anything I'd want to listen to again, but it wasn't terrible. I'd imagine Interpol isn't the most exciting band to do remixes of.

Pretty fun, kinda silly, haven't heard the original, enjoyed it.

seems pretty cool. would nvr listen to interpol, and this is a very odd choice coming from pbear, but what's the big deal? eg

lold hard. ur negative comments are as good as your positive.
But yeah didn't listen for more than a minute. It's always neat that he's doing something, and a shame he can't remix something w/o it seeming like a bigger deal than it really is... but yeah not gonna be my top played anytime soon.
Plus panda couldn't get me to listen to interpol if he had offered in person

weird how much people dislike interpol these days. i don't really listen to them and i gather that their recent stuff has fallen off, but i remember a time when Turn on the Bright Lights was the most jizzed on album you could imagine
i did like some of their early singles well enough

"uncharacteristically amateur" is probably the last description I would give it. I really like how stripped down it is. It sounds very PBVSGR in that regard. A driving drum sample, thick low end bass synth, and vocals treated lightly with a quick reverb and delay. I really like the "aye.." build up during the ending part. The part around 1:25 is really coo tool where the vocals get manipulated and pitched down.
It sounds like a PBVSGR instrumental without Boom's touch.
I think it's one of the better remixes from the boys.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I've never heard the original and this gave me PBVSGR vibes. I am shocked at all of the hate. I would think all of the PB die hards would at least keep it to themselves instead of being so openly critical after praising all of the PBVSGR instrumentals.
That being said, it wouldn't have been one of my favorites, had it been on the record.. but I actually liked the contrast between the vocal and the colorful instrumental behind it. It just feels like a Paul Banks feature on PBVSGR... a corny b-side, if you will lol

so you're implying that deak was already douchey to begin with?

ya i knew it sounded that way, but i meant that it sounds like our non-douchey deak + a hint of douche, rendering him douchier. but he isn't to begin with

It's really basic, isn't it?
Take a step back and imagine this wasn't Panda Bear. It could literally be anyone with a laptop.
Original song isn't all that interesting either. Strange enough, all round.

Well no, people can share their opinions. You don't have to love EVERYTHING they do just because it's AC (and we love them) . They are humans, they can do bad songs sometimes and we can point that when it happens.
I mean I like the remix (some parts) but it's really not that good I think . I mean Boneless, Phoenix and Ratatat remix. Those were good/great remix.
But it's my opinion so who cares

I was implying that it sounds an awful lot like a PBVSGR instrumental... not saying that people are supposed love everything by PB.. for the record, I couldn't make it through a second time either lol
sorry if I was unclear and seemed like I was calling ya'll disloyal or something haha

Honestly not surprised. I haven't heard much of PB's remixes (aren't there only like, 2?), but Deak is the true remix mastermind in AC.

Well listen to Boneless (if you can call that a remix), one of my favorite panda tracks

I've never understood why PB called that a remix. He really just sampled them. Maybe that's what NoTwist wanted?

This is interesting I really wasn't expecting this to get much flak. I almost feel like I'm hearing another song with how negative other peoples impressions are. Sure, it's no Boneless (most songs aren't) but it's still a colorful, poppy song. I haven't heard the original, but out of the context of Panda Bear, Interpol, and remixes, this is a cool track imo

Do you not think he's also working on new AC music? I feel like the guys (maybe not so much geo and deakin) are always working on music. I'm sure he's done quite a bit of work on the new LP as well as other projects.
