I'm not sure which thread to put this in and didn't want to clutter up the place making a new one, so:
Recently (since I bought decent cans) I've been looking for higher quality rips of all AC material. In my hasty and naive pursuit of everything ever a couple years ago, I simply downloaded whichever tweet looked the nicest. They're nearly all low bitrates and small file sizes, and it's really quite noticeable now with good headphones. So anyways, I've been trying to rectify that lately.
Here's the problem: every decent tweet has the song lengths incorrect. They're all short by about 6-30 seconds. I've checked the official song lengths--the original, crappy files are all good and the decent ones erroneous. It isn't noticeable in some songs, but like a sore thumb in others (Comfy in Nautica, Reverend Green). Songs with a steady enough beat. Alas, I'm a raging perfectionist now and any time difference at all will not do. I suppose I could stretch them out in some program (Audacity?). I'm by no means an expert on this. But I'm mostly wondering why this is. Any ideas? It's been the case for the like four albums in a row now.
I understand there's de facto rules against file sharing and that and I'm not entirely sure if it's gravy to post this. If not, please delete and some kind soul lead the way via PM. Cheers.

Um, that is strange. So what you're saying is that the songs are sped up and thus the track lengths are shorter? I don't understand why anyone would go through the trouble of doing that. The only time that would make sense is for a YouTube upload in order to avoid getting taken down for copyright infringement.
And speaking of copyright, I don't think asking for links to copyrighted material on CA is kosher. Sorry.
Honestly, if you want proper-length HQ files, the easiest and quickest way to get them is to buy them. If you're cheap there's also streaming services like Spotify (and there are options you can check in Spotify's preferences to ensure HQ streaming)

Yeah, they're a small bit faster. Like I said, it's hard to notice in most songs but clear as day in others. Bros is :22 shorter and you can definitely hear it. But the songs are most definitely a little clearer all round. Yeah, I don't understand it at all.
It's weird. Anyways, I will definitely be buying their discography at some stage, that's for sure. Probably tart a vinyl collection when I move out.

anyone prefer certain versions of songs to their original/studio version?
I personally prefer the single version of You Can Count on Me. I like how it jumps right into it rather than starting with the singling, and the percussion is much clearer. IMO it's a more powerful version to the Tomboy Version

woah crazy news about possible 2015 tour! from the recent panda print interview it sounds like all of them are definitely on board. and avey said something similar to me about "some surprises " when i saw slasher flicks. he had such a coy smile on when he said that.

I've tried some new naive playlists, inspired by the different arrangements of centipede hz that have been in discussion in that thread recently. there are many albums mixed in here so it feels right for this one.
There are three and they may also make one long playlist.
Drone
Crimson
On a highway
Pulleys
Glass bottom boat
This side of paradise
Wide eyed
A sender
Moon*
Sequential circuits
*from Deradoorian Mind Raft
i love this one! i am excited to listen again. i think it could be expanded with many more songs so add and rearrange as you would like!
Mercury man
Strange colores
Slow motion
Bros
Applesauce
Acid wash
Roses on the window
Graze
Taste
Ghost of books
This one is why i like the method of guessing which songs might go together rather than checking first; there are a lot of transitions and complementary songs that i would never have figured out would work on my own!
Honeycomb
Untying the knot
High road*
Heads hammock
Visiting friends
Little fang
Lion in a coma
Boys latin
Leaf house
Safer
!! this one is very special; it is like its own album! hoping you will enjoy!

It's actually just every tom petty song, sung by a centipede
was just thinking
-ep from panda in the fall
-deakin album by the end of the year
-avey hinted at some sort of 'surprise' / coulda been recording something last year for all we know
-said AC is gonna tour new material in the fall
so in conclusion: how sick would it be if we got the deakin album, panda bear ep, some sort of avey release, and new AC material all around the same time? bit of a stretch but not out of the realm of possibility. would be so great

still thinkin the "something special" hints from avey seemed to be pointing toward more reissues a la the already mentioned prospect hummer vinyl release.

So wait, AC confirmed they'd be touring new material by the fall of this year?

Yep, Avey says they hope to tour in the fall. I'd take that with a grain of salt though. The band are notorious for saying things will happen before they actually do. I'm not saying it's necessarily their fault—I'm sure there's many more factors involved, like their record label for example. But I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tour until early next year. Granted, it's still exciting to think that they'll be touring within a year or so.

Went to an AC dj show last night and I got some info. The whole "DJ tour" thing is so they can finance a tour and album? Something about financing. This year is in fact the year when AC plays new shows, avey said in the fall they'll most likely be touring. Talked to deakin about his album and he said it should be done by June and out by the end of the year. The couple of AC songs they played, Daily Routine and a dubbed out Queen in my Pictures, are actually exclusive deakin remixes for these shows, apparently deak loves to remix old songs of theirs? Geologist is also super skinny now.

is that true tho? the only instances i can think of of this are panda saying he expected to release tomboy by sept 2010 and the whole deakin debacle. are there other examples of this that i'm forgetting?
e: i've only been a fan since '08 so anything before that i wouldn't be aware of i guess
