if it is their last I would be okay with that. They both killed their side projects this year. I've got total faith in them individually as well as collectively.

Honeycomb/Gotham/Crimson and CHz were exactly what i wished for after ODDSAC. proggy and a little more "in your face"! now i don't know what i want the next AC era to sound like... maybe some acoustic guitar stuff again? pulleys and wide eyed from that radio session were awesome.
do you guys remember when the first CHz videos and boots surfaced? i can't wait to be that psyched again.

ha i remember that moment pretty vividly. i was in my parents kitchen on their computer listening to a 'new song' that was up on youtube. i think it was a video of them playing rosie oh, crimson and maybe NTB? not even sure if it was the first time new songs surfaced, but anyways my mom asked why i was listening to "spanish circus music". put a huge smile on my face haha.

One of my favorite nights on CA! We were all up crazy late feeding information off of texts and twitter posts about the set list. And then someone posted a super short video of Wide Eyed a minute right after they played it...I was so psyched to see the random deakin solo song he played only 2 times pop up in the new AC set.

That was a fun night! Can't wait for the next tour to startup. I always say I'm done listening to the boots but once they're here I just can't help myself.

I was so psyched.listening to those lo-fi recordings. I imagined them to sound so much better than they eventually did.

speaking of favorite CA memories, does anybody remember the really strange rant/analysis somebody went on after the boys performed #1 on Conan? Something about when Avey was standing next to conan, Avey had a 'mien smile'? Hope somebody saved that cause it was one of the strangest posts I'v eever seen on this board, like the dude was tripping while writing it or something.

Haha, I've never heard of this but would love to read it

Not yet. It sounds like they just started writing music for the new record, which means it's gonna be a while before it's released—at least a year, probably closer to a year and a half

almost impossible we'll get a 2015 release... if that's the case, this will be the longest gap in between releases for the band.

Yes!
Also through all of their created works, whether albums, concerts* , artwork, ephemera and how these all combine, they have formed a vast and truly multidimensional garden in life that is still growing between themselves and so many people, other peopley lifeforms as well** !
* (whether by how they remain in peoples' minds and hearts and also recordings)
** (so many animal companions and nature animals and plant-animals have heard the music and also just been positively affected by people who have?)

I think it'd be cool if the new album sounded kind of like the acoustic versions of wide eyed and pulleys that they did for KEXP. To me, those songs sounded a bit like more grown-up (and full bandy) versions of sung tongs stuff. And another reason I think they're cool is because i'm pretty sure that they were live recordings, (which I like) and that's in-keeping with Avey's recent live-vibe kick.

either that or that they dive even deeper into the electronics, like they did on MPP/FBK/ODDSAC. more space, more panda & avey harmonies, more exploration in terms of sounds.more of that what makes them so special.

I honestly think that none of us will predict what their new material will sound like. I have confidence that they'll be able to come up with something that sounds nothing like their other albums, because they've successfully done so for every other one of their albums (imo)
I wouldn't be disappointed if they did an album with very little or no drums, more atmospheric. Almost like Street Flash or something.
Expect the unexpected...

Can't see them doing away with drums with all four on board. Would definitely love an album like that though. Street Flash is my fourth favourite AnCo song and a lot of the atmospheric stuff on Down There is ridic.

Imagine if they did an album that was entirely sequenced in Ableton Live and they toured with laptops.
It would be unprecedented for them, pretty sure they don't really ever use DAWs or sequencing. Or at least I assume they don't sequence because the sequencer on the SP-404 is shit lol

My honest prediction is that their next album will be their most similar to their previous. It might be cynical, but I think that with age, they'll finally start settling into a more homogenized aesthetic. I'm sure they'll continue to write original and amazing songs, but I'm guessing it won't be as different from CHz as CHz was from MPP.
