That girl is gorgeous and so are a lot of the shoots in the vid. But I sorta just didn't get it? Like, I enjoyed the editing of it with all the stock footage but it was all seemingly so random I didn't know what to take away from it or how it related to the stuff with the girl. Also WHY did you use a live version??? It sounded really bad to me after listening to the freebird for the past couple weeks.

I presume it's because the video is on youtube and the freebird hasn't made it's way on there yet

I immediately thought of Adaptation in the beginning

I really liked all the quick cutting of the stock footage. Thought it fit the track perfectly. Not so sure about the girl. I actually thought it was a cover at first. Didn't sound like panda's voice for some reason.
Did u make this for a class or something? Or just for fun?

to be honest, using a different version of the song (preferably the actual studio version) would have made it great. you happened to use a recording where the prerecorded echoes werent working or something
edit: or it was intentional? idk, noah made mention in an interview i saw somewhere that at a couple shows there were some critical malfunctions that put him "on edge"

Thanks for checking out everyone and for your feedback thus far.
I love the live version of this specific performance. Plus, using a freebirded studio track would make this illegal. And I shit you not, I didn't download it either. It was experiencing the song live then discovering this recording on youtube that initially inspired me.
Besides the obvious legal reasons there were moral ones too... I was late pitching my concept to the PB team - they had already chosen a director. I have licensed Animal Collective and Panda Bear tracks for previous projects of mine so using a freebirded studio track would've been a damaging move.
I'm not going to justify the images, as they are all intentional, or try to decode someone else's lyrics... But I'll tell you how I personally related to the song... and how it may inform your viewing. "Boys Latin" made me reflect on myself and others' inability to be present - how it contrasts the mentality of moment-to-moment survival for animals living in the wild. It puts things into perspective for me... What we have, what we don't have, what we want - everything that consumes our lives. Overwhelmed with all this external stimuli, I yearn to drop everything and just leave, reduce myself back into the wild - but it's a difficult escape. See it sounds pretentious explaining it!
Oh yeah, awesome call on "Adaptation!"
If you're interested, I referenced these other projects:
"People" and "Loch Raven" live at Artsplace 2005 is featured in episodes of my docuseries that aired on Pivot (trailer mixes studio/live recording of "People"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7k_IUqi5FQ
"Carrots" and "Last Night At The Jetty" used in this short film:

Thanks again.

I was actually hoping Noah would use this technique in the studio version. I loved this boot.
