if you haven't heard this EP with a decent pair of headphones you haven't listened to it yet. the beauty is in the small details. if you haven't "got it" yet, i would suggest that. it's genius

And this is just how I was interpreting them at the time (which panda is all about with his lyrics, (why he simplifies them)) but each line was almost like a key to hearing the mix, and almost like setting me up for listeing to the full album in the right way.

TL;DR: Untying's vox were my key to hearing how intense the panning is THANK YOU SONIC

You've mentioned Perth before, are you referring to Perth, Western Australia or something else? Just curious as it's my hometown.

ahh this description is so nice. this is exactly how I feel listening to it, there's parts sung all around me and I get swept up in it. most of Noah's music sounds watery and splashy to me, but this one feels windy and breezy and fresh. like before a storm when you're being buffeted by wind and the rain hasn't started yet. I love it a lot.

Speaking of perth, i showed TSOP to my cousine and he pointed out that panda sounds kind of like the singer of tame impala on that song.

Ha! This is great.

Is it as good as Bill Hader's Aussie accent?

?'hol de beer?
I got a person pitch nostalgia from that track in that first super close listen^_^
OMFPB there ARE effects on each previous round... Yeah I can easily see how an album could be done just based on these ideas.
Damn u guys must be working with fire because for UTK to knot even be an album cut... means Januhairy will be legend-hairy.
Looking forward to my pot and ur panning.

sorry mr. boom

my "sonic hates bass" comment was meant to be more playful in my head, but i know it probably didn't read that way to anyone now that i think about it...

i was just really enjoying the bass parts in these new songs but felt like i needed to make my own system adjustments to really feel it (not a big deal anyway), and i remembered that the bass was a common complaint when Tomboy came out so my comment was just sort of a reference to that, directed at some of the older users on the board... didn't think you'd read it

either way, not fair to you since i really think you've done an excellent job and have added a whole lot to the projects you've worked on, so sorry about that!

Entirely too excited for this album after bumping the EP nonstop over the past few days. If the production has the same vibe on the album Boys Latin video (single?!?!) is literally going to be earth shattering when it drops same goes for Crosswords (assuming it is a single)

Im surprised Principe Real made the final track list. It's quite an old track.

But I mean the Person Pitch and Tomboy songs were also old by the time they were eventually released, so it's not unexpected.

I always wondered about that, seeing that the first single was released two years before the album and a lot of the material was played love before that. What was the release of Person Pitch like, given that three and a half of the seven tracks were already out in an official capacity?

Not according to the iTunes preorder tracklist. But some of us think that these might not be the real track lengths.

I think it's likely those are real now... It's not a double album and a lot of the other 11 songs are a pretty good length. Plus those are the only new songs that weren't posted about on Sonic Boom's photobucket account. Of course, that could mean they are retitles but it's just weird for those specific ones to be the short ones "chosen" by iTunes if it is a mistake and have everything else be true.

edit: also if they were retitles I sort of think Sonic would have hinted as such rather than just choosing Crosswords and Selfish Gene and saying nothing more

Personally, I'm hoping Davy Jones' Locker is the 50/50 sample. Noah opened his set with that as an intro to Garage/Crosswords at the Majestic Madison show last month and it was so good.

^that would be really cool. I usually think of short "songs" like this as novelties. I mean, clearly Noah & Co. can do transitions within the actual songs and make it sound great, so these must be something more, something surprising about these two snippets.

i picked up the i'm not/comfy in nautica single at the first anco show i went to (early 06, i believe) and grabbed the rest at stores as time went on. i kind of think at least one was after the record had come out though. the anticipation of singles wasn't near the same as tomboy, as far as i remember, though, at least in music press. i didn't even know what the i'm not/comfy in nautica single was when i bought it, really. i can't remember what it was like on ca around then (2007 or so) either, unfortunately.
