Does anyone know the kit he uses on the centipede hz album? I am terrible sorry if this was posted somewhere else.

Welcome to the forum. Would be best to post this in the AC subforum...
He uses the same kit that he's been using live for their tours since 2011. There's a hi-hat with some kind of shaker thing attached to it, a kick drum, a snare I think, a tom, a horizontal metal cylinder up the top, and a crash cymbal.

The Hi hat is essentially just a shakere (african beaded gord).
does he use a piccolo snare? or does he just use his bongos as the snare hit
and the cylinder is hooked up to effects
I cant remember

he uses, the shaker with a hihat pedal
and his kick, metal cylinder and two bongos are all mic'd and put through effects processors
thats all there is.
he often changes the pitch of the bongos and cylinder to make them sound like different instruments, for example the hit on all fours at the start of monkey riches is the cylinder pitched and processed. and the extremely phased out hit on crimson is just a bongo processed the frack out.

The bongos are processed to sound like snare drums on Moonjock. Does anyone have a better idea than me of how they did that? I'm thinking they might have had each bongo hit trigger a snare sample or a little burst of noise that was then mixed with the original signal. That would be a cool effect to apply to a regular drum set, turning all of the toms into lower-pitched snares.
Anyone else miss Panda's giant marching bass drum from the 2011 shows?

He does rimshots on both bongos for a snare effect...the effects are always sorta random but he alters both the can and the bongos sometimes....theres that recent video thats on him for really prolonged amounts of time, theres the definitive document!
