Angel's voice gels really well with Avey's IMO, there'd be some sick harmonies if she decided to get on board. Her contributions to Slasher Flicks in general were pretty great actually. I don't think it'd happen, but if she was on the new album I'd be all for it.

main issue with the dude's "opinion"
as well as the fact that he doesnt think avey is most responsible for the sound of avey tare's slasher flicks.

I'd be down for less clutter. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it's been a theme with almost all recent AC.

Honestly, they need to make sure they have a strong enough set of songs before anything else. CHz is halfway to greatness and the production could even be legit if the songs weren't half half-baked.

While I am personally not a huge Slasher Flicks fan, I do think Angel would be a great addition during writing/recording/etc. because she's very under-utilized on Enter The Slasher House, vocally at least. Seeing Slasher Flicks live really made me realize this. She's great at dropping some sweet, funky bass synth lines but her voice is absolutely gorgeous. Just listen to Bitte Orca or her solo EP! I would love to hear singing more when collaborating with Avey. That, and I seriously doubt her presence would do anything detrimental to the group.
Can we go back to the producer debate for a minute tho? I too doubt they'd work with Ben Allen again, although its possible. I would love to see them bring in Sonic Boom for the next LP. He's already done a fantastic job on Tomboy and I'm positive Grim Reaper is going to be nothing short of astounding. I would be very curious to see what he could do with more Avey or Deakin driven songs. I recall a Panda interview where one of them said he drastically reduced the number of tracks while mixing Tomboy, giving a lot of the songs more stripped down production. I think we can all agree this would be a good thing. Slasher Flicks and to a certain extent much of Centipede Hz sounds very cluttered so having Sonic there for production or at the very least mixing might help their new record sound a little less chaotic.

I wonder when I'm going to get so tired of repeating the fact that they produce basically all of their albums themselves that I just stop
Not today, anyway
AC are the sole producers for Spirit, Danse, Campfire, Indian, Tongs, Feels, Strawberry and ODDSAC, plus their first three EPs. Nicolas, Scott, Rusty and Kristin were their engineers for those releases. Ben Allen takes some of the production credit for Merriweather, Fall and Centipede but even then they still co-produced with him (and it was only near the end of the Merriweather sessions that they got him to make some creative decisions - they hired him to work as an engineer, not a producer)
So I think they're probably going to produce their next album themselves
Yeah I'm waiting out for some FULLY-BAKED songs from them, if you know what I mean

Dude you raise an excellent point. Historically speaking, the odds are in favor that they would self-produce the next record and I had no intention of sounding like I was leaving that off as a possibility. I recall reading in an interview that when they went into the studio to record Centipede Hz, they had every intent to self-produce that album. Ben got in touch with them to produce the tracks. He caught them live and had ideas for all the new songs. So they very well should feel the same about producing it themselves moving forward.
All I'm trying to say is that I think, based solely on my opinion and the opinions of a few others in this thread, that Sonic's approach to mixing/production would be a good thing given the sound of Centipede Hz/Slasher House vs. Tomboy. So yes, a Ben Allen or Sonic Boom production credit looks pretty unlikely. Personally, I would like to see 'mixed by Sonic Boom' on the next LP.

I want an AnCo album home-recorded on a 4-track, APink style. Lofi is the ultimate gimmick, but it'd still sound amazing

I'd love for them to get back to Hollindagin/Here Comes the Indian style crazy noise pop. Although I know they'd never do that.

A reinvention, some form(s) of music that partially are unrecognizable may be as exciting and special as something of that sound! each day "music listeners" generally are becoming more and more tolerant of the unknown. also as time goes on music seems to be appearing more and more as a superintelligent lifeform that does somehow help musicians find the right new music when they respect it and are fascinated by it!

I could definitely go for some antiquated electronic instrumentation, glitched out harmonies, and afropop/mbaqanga influenced chord progressions and melodies. like uhhh tribal vaporwave

You forgot to say "childlike"! Every AC review must use the word "childlike" at least once.
