I've got Principe Real but i say just go for it man.
Btw that suggestion of doing all these songs in young prayer fashion is quite appealing to me. It's like the total opposite aesthetic.

By all means, take a stab at Nadir. Not sure how likely I am to actually finish it.

Damn how did I not see this thread. I'm working on Nadir right now and I guess I'd like to try Butcher Baker Candlestick Maker too

sequential circuits! pulled an all nighter last night polishing it up - maybe went a bit overboard in terms of production... i'm delusional when i'm tired, but i'm happy with it. based the order of lyrics on recent boots. excited to hear everyone else's!

whoa. nice one frumpkin. i think it sounded like you really gave it your all. i like the little stuttery percussion stuff going on in the second half. launches the song to a different level. i like it when covers aren't carbon copies of the original.

Okay, maybe an unreasonable idea but, how about we do TWO full-album covers? One of them can just be CAvsGR with the songs recorded in whatever style we want, and the other one can be recorded entirely in the style of Young Prayer. What do you guys think? A few people have expressed interest in the Young Prayer idea, although it might be hard to pull off.

youll probably have enough of a challenge getting everyone to finish one, just from the evidence of past ca cover albums

Yeah, good point...I myself am guilty of never quite finishing my cover of Winter's Love for CA does Sung Tongs
Regardless, I will attempt to record Tropic of Cancer in Young Prayer style...who knows if it will work

I'll try to do Popadam in both styles. I think young prayer would be easier personally but w/e
EDIT: Maybe a CA vs the Young Prayer Grim Reaper EP?

thanks duder. glad you liked it. i like mucking about a little bit when i do covers - always fun to be playful!

thanks man! here are the chords as i found them:
G A# C G A# F
that's the arrangement up until the "chorus"-y part, at which point the arrangement gets a bit tricky.

anyone have any idea what those synth notes on Garage are? i can't figure out how to reproduce them for the life of me short of "an arpeggiator"

Listening to these is helping me fully understand how these songs are broken down. This album is going to be a behemoth.

Nice job frumpkin!
got most of BBCM figured out, just trying to find the right notes for the synth on the chorus since it changes a little. May just keep it the same throughout, sounds fine that way. Now to figure out how to sequence properly in Ableton...
may add vocals later, I don't have a good mic and I probably wouldn't have a good enough singing voice to make the cover satisfying. like i said i'm new to this

So pretty much anyone can do whatever song they want as long as we don't piss another user off. You know what I mean. We'll probably make this a double album. Maybe other versions of the songs go on disc two.
Just have fun with it.

Okay cool thanks dud.
Or if anyone else has decided they aren't going to do their song, I'd give it a wack, but if not I could lay down popadam 4 sure.

wow all the covers i've heard so far are stellar! keep them coming!
has anyone tried to figure out the chords and especially the lyrics to this side of paradise yet? sounds like he's switching between A and D, but i've got no clue what he's singing.

Every fish that swim in the sea , don't eat it !
See what you can and you can't do
Give the road a good look over
Then make it golden with your common sense
SOLD
Give your boy a grip on the shoulder
Build up a totem like a common sense
MOLD
Like a sinking ship on the ocean
