Just found a cover for my shift at work, psyched out of my fucking mind. I've been following the boots since ATP and missed him in Chicago last May.

Anyone else going?

I'll be there, maybe with one or two others but I'm not sure yet.

Planning to try recording, though I've never done something like this before so I can't guarantee how it'll end up :P

Get on it brotha

I won't be recording but I'm glad someone is. I just can't bring myself to do anything but immerse myself in the music, I hate taking pictures/videos at shows

u of i show is supposedly at a lame place. It's not even a real music venue so the sound might not be good. Madison is where its at!

I'm pretty sure the Panda Bear set is going to be held in a theater in the music school (I can double check for sure if anyone is curious, my buddy goes to school there). So it should sound fine/if not better than a normal venue if it's mixed right.

It's part of a festival though... I don't think you can go to the stand alone Panda Bear show.. right?

you can buy individual tickets for any of the bands at the fest. Panda tix are $20. my friend who goes there said that the show was in a small place where you have to sit down. Not sure if that's true, but I looked at pics of the venue and it didn't seem like a place that usually hosts music events. Maybe I got some bad intel?

I didn't think about the sitting part but yeah I think its in a theater like setting that concerts/performances happen at. Krannert is one of their newer music buildings I think. I think the Panda Bear individual tickets are sold out... maybe I'll try to scalp one if that works. I'd rather hang out there than drive to Madison. I don't know for sure the set up though (at UofI)

Definitely not forced to sit down. I saw slasher flicks there last spring and there were some tables with chairs near the bar but that was all

We're talking about the theater that is holding the music fest at U of I (you're talking about the Majestic right?)

my friends would be equally repulsed and terrified at the idea of me going to meet up with some 21+ dudes before the concert lol. i wish i could though :(

is the majestic cool to smoke in? we're thinking of just bringing a pipe and smoking in the mosh pit. would that be really annoying of us and/or get us kicked out if we're not discreet?

also if im really blunt and rude-seeming its just my nerves. im usually very weird around people im meeting for the first time

I usually sneak in my one hitter box and smoke those under my shirt. the place is kind of small so smoking a bowl or a pipe might be kinda sketchy, but its certainly doable as I am sure the place will be packed. get there early!

Looking like I'll be there on my own tonight...still planning to record but not certain how it'll turn out.

Also hoping to hang around for a little bit afterwards to try and meet Noah. Is that pretty doable in the Majestic or do they try to shoo you out of the venue right after it ends?

I was high out of my mind last night. I was literally chanting likke an insane person during that steady clap after the main set lol.

That show was jaw-dropping. Blues control killed it too

The couple to my right were really chatty at seemingly all the worst moments and I have no idea what I'm doing with EQ but hopefully it sounds at least half decent!

Tico, I definitely spotted you but didn't say anything since I was up in the center of that first elevated area (guy on his own with dark hair, glasses, black warp shirt). The girl behind me thought my zoom recorder was a bomb which definitely makes me more paranoid about recording other shows in the future haha

i think i saw you sound science. i shook Danny Perez's hand as he was walking through the crowd. he seemed like he was in a hurry but he still stopped to say hi when i said his name.

which song was it where in the second half Noah was somehow screaming and hitting notes at the same time?

also it was so great to see noah having such a good time and shaking his booty on stage. he was so somber and pissed-looking when i saw AC last year

Thank you so much for recording/uploading this! Last night's show was so good.

Was anyone else surprised he began with the 50/50 intro?

I did do some EQ on what I uploaded (mostly just bumping up the highs a lot since they were pretty much nonexistent) but if you want to give this a shot then just let me know and I can send you the original wav file.

Ok cool, yeah I've yet to listen to it, but would definitely like to take a stab. Mega is giving me some trouble. I always have trouble with that site.

I'll pm you my email address.

great show, a lot of people seemed bored, though near the end of the set. blues control was beyond terrible, maybe one good song. teetered into performance art and can only imagine is shit people who are 19 years old liked (which seemed to be about the average age of the crowd)

I saw Blues Control at the Charlottesville show and thought they were fantastic all the way through. Opening with that psyched out version of Day Tripper, and then bending genres and piano styles throughout the set all played by a complete virtuoso, blew me away entirely.

Then again, I ate 4 hits of acid.

lol i thought Blues Control was completely entertaining, although the first song was the only one i really liked. after that i was laughing at the rest of the songs and where they took each one (in a light-hearted way)
