A friend and I snagged tickets a couple weeks ago.

I saw avey at U street when he was doing his solo tour. It's a great little venue if you haven't been there. They mainly do electronic events, so the bass/bass drum should sound great with the ATSF material.

ugghhhghgh of course the day after i post this my mom says u street is not safe enough and i can't go... but this is mostly because my stepdad is an asshole/excop and likes to pretend he knows everything and just likes to ruin things ughghghg

Weren't you at the 9:30 Club shows? It's like 3 blocks away from there and in a spot with more people around anyway, tell them that.

Never had a problem in either of those places regardless, they're totally wrong.

i wish they weren't playing in the sweaty dungeon that is u street music hall...

but hey, tix are super cheap and CO LA IS OPENING(!!!) so that seems like good enough incentive to go...definitely more excited for the panda show, but this will still be enjoyable i'm sure.

i was a bit underwhelmed by a handful of songs on the record, but seeing things live can change a person's perspective i suppose.

So it looks like Co La's not opening but we've got Brian doing a DJ set. Also, looks like Art Department (canadian deep house group) goes on right after them at 10...does this mean the whole show goes from 7 to 10 or does the venue have multiple rooms?

It's just one room, so they'll probably boot us out as soon as the show is over. But glad to see Brian will be there (and I'm betting that Deaks will be in attendance too)

i was just about to buy tix yesterday, then read about the boston show...

not gonna take the chance and buy tix now...i hope you kids that are going can still enjoy yourselves, but i see no point in going now...

hopefully he'll take a long time to rest after all this.

For my fellow DCers, I got this email from U Street:

"If the show is cornpilled, we'll post to social media outlets so keep an eye on our Facebook page. For now, the show is still on."

I mean, they could cornpill it anytime before the show, but at least nothing official has been done yet.

Man, I'm not feeling very optimistic about this happening. Of course I want Avey to feel better, but at the same time I wish they would just do a show of instrumental jams. Sort of go all the way with the whole "jazz power trio" thing.

U Street just announced set times on their facebook page, so I'm assuming it's happening!

I saw Avey at U Street a couple years ago and it was super easy to meet the guy. There's not much of a backstage area, so artists generally are in the crowd area before/after they play. I'm pretty sure there's an electronic show happening afterwards so we may be pushed out quick.

Wouldn't be surprised if Deak is there to support, and we know that Geo will be there playing. Panda plays DC on the 15th... maybe he's in the states already?

Anyways, whoever is there, if the show is happening, it should be pretty easy to meet the guy(s)

I'm not optimistic that these shows will be rescheduled. SFLX is a super group of sorts, and I'm sure they all took specific time out to tour the record. I'm not sure how easy it'll be to get everyone together again.

It's kind of a tour, but not really? Like he's playing 2 festivals and then the make-up shows, followed by a west coast jaunt the month after.

Yesss this is on a Wednesday so I can totally go. Is everyone buying their tickets online before hand or banking on buying them at the door?

It hasn't really hit me yet that I'm going to witness a live performance of probably my favorite record of the year. I already went through all the hype in April, so I'm wondering how I should approach this in order to maximize the experience.

Psychedelic drugs?

Also, if there isn't a meet-up prior to the show already planned, we should plan one!
