it came down to transverse temporal gyrus and young prayer for me, so i voted for feels since they weren't included on the poll. nice poll work.
kestrel wrote:would be cool if they released an album where they re did songs from other albums in the style of other albums. like when they played chocolate girl for mpp or purple bottle for chz. but this in a whole album form. guess it would hard to play new songs in an old format, but easier to play old songs in a new format.
the versions of winters love, wcwar and leaf house that they were doing in the sj/mpp tours owned. the bbc sessions for those jams rock but but i agree that it'd be awesome to have them in some sort of release. they always talk about how they record all of their shows, though. it'd be nice to get some more crackbox releases with material like that.
yeah dude those tracks live were awesome, but i am talking more of a studio situation.
also i was thinking how cool would it be if they made a part 2 of an album like 10 years later. Like in 2015 if they used the same set up from feels to make an entirely new record. don't think it would ever happen because like all individuals they want to feel as though they are progressing.

Strawberry Jam with Safer as the tenth track would take the cake for me.
Or Centipede Hz if Crimson/Gotham/Honeycomb were put between Father Time and Newtown Burnout.
HCTI is pure magic.
Feels was my first AC record...
I still did not vote, this is way too hard

My all-time favorite album alternates between Merriweather, Person Pitch and Tomboy each time I listen to them, however Fall Be Kind is also the best thing ever...
at the end of the day I suppose I will always be devoted to Merriweather.
Centipede is great too btw
oh and Water Curses and ODDSAC

if you're saying that sung tongs is more consistent than mpp then we're just gonna have to agree to disagree
Well what songs on Sung Tongs aren't really good? Whaddit I Done and Good Lovin Outside are probably the weakest links but still good songs, on MPP i'm not really a huge fan of Daily Routine or Bluish (really overrated imo) but there's nothing on MPP that I like as much as Winters Love or the first two songs. Plus Sung Tongs has a more impressive atmosphere and better replay value for me.
sorry i took so long getting back to you on this, but i really had to think about it! i do think whaddit i done is a completely terrible song (sorry ethmin), especially considering that it's the closing track which i feel is especially important to get right. also i absolutely hate we tigers with a passion which is pretty blasphemous to say on here, but that song is just not for me. that's not to say that i think mpp is "perfect" or whatever, but there aren't any tracks that i actually dislike. that's also not to say that i don't like st, but i definitely skip tracks when i listen to it. i actually really like good lovin outside though.
in summary, i have opinions and so do you! sometimes they aren't the same and that's ok!
if i had to order them it'd be like
1 tomboy
2 person pitch
3 everything else
my fav full band release is prob campfire songs or fbk if i had to choose.

Strawberry jam was the first i heard, but their best is arguably Spirit. Alvin Row is no doubt the best song ever. Spirit is also my favorite record of all time so i guess it was pretty logical...

For me it's Feels. The way the album is structured is just incredible. The first half is awesome, Banshee Beat-Turn Into Something is for sure the best album sequence ever in my opinion.

10. Fall Be Kind or Campfire Songs
also, in my opinion prospect hummer is extremely underrated.

Person Pitch is my all time favorite.
That album is serious utter perfection to me, I cannot find one thing wrong with it
Also, Comfy in Nautica was the first song I heard that helped me delve into PB/AC. How I would order the rest would probably go like..

If I could, I'd change my vote from Sung Tongs to Person Pitch. After a lot of listening, PP has become not only my favorite AC-related release but also my favorite album of all time.
Quick top ten:
1) Person Pitch
2) Sung Tongs
3) MPP
4) Spirit
5) Strawberry Jam
6) Feels
7) Fall Be Kind
8) Water Curses
9) Prospect Hummer
10) Tomboy
Holy fuck, making a list like that just made me realize how mind-blowingly prolific this amazing band is. I had to put Feels at #6 and FBK at #7, and both of those releases are some of my favorite pieces of music ever. Damn.

I've been bumping Person Pitch a lot lately, memorized the lyrics too, and I think it's just barely dethroned Sung Tongs as #1 for me as well. It's just too goddamn perfect.

I remember in the Ma Fama radio interview, Noah said he was going to name it Perfect Pitch instead but felt like he was being too vain with the title...
I wish he had gone through with it.. Person Pitch is a good title but Perfect Pitch is much more fitting, you know, since the album is just so dang perfect. It really does have a special place in my heart (I sound lame but its the truth)
Seriously though can anyone find anything wrong with Person Pitch?

what do u all like abt feels, if u could specify or differentiate what u like abt it to other lps... cuz i think it's great, but i never listen to it or rlly want to, except loch raven maybe. i usually see favorite as translating to one i play most but i guess not everyone would define it that way...

I'm very much enjoying this PP love. I think it's a flawless album with a flawless opener, flawless closer, flawless middle section, and flawless cover. It's perfectly paced. It's euphoric. It's inventive. It's comforting. It's beautiful. Really excited to see if Panda can reach similar heights with his upcoming record (the live show was awesome, so I'm hopeful).

Not too big of a fan of the solo projects, and I didn't really consider EPs. However, FBK, People, and Prospect Hummer are all up there. Also, I'm sad CHz doesn't get more love, that album is groovy and always makes me feel better so it is my favorite.
Edit: Come to think of it, HCTI would probably be number 4-ish because I listened to it again recently and really enjoyed it. This is why I hate picking favorites.

Wish I could've voted but for me my favorite records are Centipede Hz or Strawberry Jam.
I agree with that but for me I still find these to be my favorite (even though a lot of people don't love Centipede Hz). That record just has a special meaning for me and where I was at in my life.

Have to go back and say that my favorite is Sung Tongs once again, with Person Pitch at a close second. Sung Tongs is just so cozy, it's like comfort food. I could listen to it at any and all hours of the day.

Song Tongs comforts me when its raining heavily or a thunderstorm is passing by, especially with songs like Leaf House, Softest Voice, and Mouth Wooed Her. It's definitely a mood/seasonal album for me though so not my overall favorite.
