Wish the band would log back on here and tell us all to shut the fuck up
There was a guy on reddit, on the Animal Collective subreddit, who was compiling a list of Avey's highest and lowest notes. If only I could summon him over here...
I tried to help him out though and the lowest Avey vocal note I could find was from College live on KVRX '03 where he hits the 2nd F below middle C.

Panda Bear is a better singer.
It seems like Avey has a wider range

That's very tricky.
It seems like Avey has a wider range, while Noah's intonation is almost perfect. I'm personally not a fan of screaming Avey and I prefer Panda as a singer based on pure technical skill, but I have to admit that it seems like Avey puts a lot more passion to it, very emotional singing, the theatrics, etc.

lol noah does not have perfect intonation. there are plenty of shows where he is waaaay off (i think like mid-mpp-era maybe?)
When he plays you can count on me on jimmy fallon.... He sings close to perfect
Dayum, do you know where I can find this?

Does anyone have "perfect intonation" though? I feel like you could say that any live musician is waay off sometimes. Maybe I am just being too cynical about this though.
I think the important thing is the voice complimenting the music in the right way. Like you could have a great voice and still not sound good with whatever the accompanying sound is, which I think panda succeeds at. Maybe its just me, but for me, vocal range has never been that important in looking at musicians.
I guess I just feel like avey doesn't need any justice, as well as any musician that is doing a good job of accompanying their non vocal sounds with complimentary vocals.
I don't know man... I've heard Panda miss PLENTY of notes live, as well as just singing horribly off key sometimes. The guy can sound really good when he wants to but sometimes...I don't know what he's doing. Especially when he goes up and down the "scale" before he starts songs, he'll be especially off key in some live boots. He's gotten better over the years but I definitely wouldn't say he has perfect intonation.
There ARE singers who have perfect intonation though. I've noticed most of them being Neo-Soul or R&B singers.
