Animal Collective
Club Firestone, 2009
ODDSAC screening at the Senate Theatre, 2010
Merriweather Post Pavilion, both 2011 and 2012.

Panda Bear
Ottobar, 2010. Deak was on the bill too!

Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks
The Metro Gallery, 2013

MPP 2011 would probably have to be my favorite. The centipede songs were still relatively fresh, and also they played dystw, which has to be one of my favorite songs ever. Like I think I started crying when that song started, whenever I think about now it I always imagine it being super bright outside even though it had already gotten dark when they started playing. And the Slasher Flicks show is a close second just because it was so exciting to be bombarded with all of those new jams for the first time in such an intimate setting.

I saw them both times at the Enmore theatre in Sydney. The first was at the tail end of the MPP/Fall Be Kind era and I'm sure a lot of you have seen the full set or heard the boot, it was awesome.

The second time was a bit of a bummer because I was stuck behind some kids talking about how they hoped they wouldn't play anything from Centipede Hz, that their favourite song was 'Purple Flowers' and how both Avey and Panda aren't good solo. They also yelled out and swore a lot between songs which kind of detracted from the vibe. Fortunately Saida and I are seeing them in LA this October so to see them twice in a year and in separate continents is pretty rad.

As far as solo sets go I've only seen Panda Bear at the Hollywood bowl which was rad but a shame that he didn't get to play for longer than 40 minutes.

All of the 930 shows and MPP show since 07 and Avey at Ust and Panda and Deakin at Ottobar 2010. Also I'm not sure if it counts but Geo dj-ed this art thing with No Age, Nico Jaar, OPN, High Places and a gospel choir at the Hirshhorn in DC. It was super rad. 930 07 was my favorite and mpp2011 was my least because of personal stuff going on. Looking forward to them back at 930 in December.

You are all superior to me seeing them so many times

I only got to see them at Bluesfest in July, but I guess it was 1 of the 2 rare shows when Panda took over before they cornpilled the rest of the tour so I feel pretty lucky to witness that
They had set everything up but they closed off the field of the stage because they might've had to cornpill because of the storm that flooded Toronto earlier looked like it was coming towards us. So everyone was waiting along the barricade tapes, and there were hardcore Weezer fans too, so we all had to race to the barrier. Luckily I managed to get front row. I also watched Solange with them for a bit, I could barely focus

I was ecstatic I finally got to see them, but I don't recommend seeing your favourite bands at a festival, it's not fun being with people who don't know them and are talking crap about them behind your ears, it has lessened the experience for me many times

I can't exactly hint what that would even mean?????

I saw them in Oakland in 2012. Performance was life changing, but the people around me and my buddy that came were not feeling it which made me a little uncomfortable because I love em so much.
However, I randomly got to chill with the whole band at a bar after. Those guys are all the coolest guys ever. I was way above my mind but the girl I was with bought them a round and Brian tried to give me money for it haha. They are really good people. Noah was awesome and we talked about his lyrics in Centipede. Josh is really funny and was tripping me out, Dave was pretty shy and maybe a bit tired but still nice. Talked to Brian the most I think, he was super friendly, you'd never guess that they are famous. Best part was that no one in the bar even knew who they were so they were super relaxed.

Just saw Slasher Flicks is S.F. and they killed it. Don't know if the people were ready for it though haha lots of confused faces in the crowd. Dave is so humble for being as great as he is. He said "thanks for listening" as he walked off the stage. A true artist.

Missed multiple opportunities to see them in '06, I really regret not being able to hear safer and cuckoo live especially...dammit...anyways, best AC related show is as tie between 930 Club in Sept. 07 (opened w/ dancer and when the explosion in the song happened the lights were intensely pulsing this amber color, it was crazy.) and Panda at Ottobar in '07 (perfect panda setlist.)

AC:
Satellite Ballroom May '07
930 Club Sept '07
930 Club May '09
Merriweather July '11
Merriweather Oct '12
930 Club 6/10/13 - 6/12/13 (we at least SAW them the first night lol)
(i'll be at 930 Club this December as well)

Panda:
Ottobar 6/21/07 (the best birthday present.)
Governors Island Sept '10

Avey:
DJ set at Governors Island w/ Panda Sept '10 (which I forgot about)
U Street Music Hall Nov '11

AC @ Riverside Theater 2009(was so dope)
AC @ Lollapalooza 2009(short fest set not my fav performance but still hella fun)
PB @ Pitchfork 2010(zomg this was amazing/ask learninghowtodyland about the black smoke ring cloud that appeared above the stage while panda was jammin)
AC @ Pitchfork 2011(crowd was kinda lame but show rawked)
Avey Tare @ Schubas 2011(w/ eric copeland. so rad)
PB @ The Vic 2011(played with sonic boom, reem was there on booms, visuals were amazing)

I think thats all the AC related shows. It's been too long.

then i kinda moved away from them cause they were killin the vibe for sure

shit, I can only hope that someday my list will be as big as all of yours

first time was at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, 9/18/2012. it was a really sweet and special experience, being right in the very front with a big group of friends and acquaintances. Cobwebs was probably the highlight of that show for me.

just saw them in Portland at Musicfest NW on the 6th of this month. ate some mushrooms, was in the very front this time, too. I was so happy to hear them play Purple Bottle.

I'll make a point of seeing them next time they come around Washington or Oregon, but when I'm more financially able, I'd like to travel greater distances to go to their shows as often as I can.

I was at the Schubas show. It was rad and a little surreal. Talked to Avey a bit before he played. He was very nice. I really loved Eric Copeland's set. Talked to Eric a little afterwards but it was a little awkward.

i wish i could remember every single thing about this show, but coming home and finding the proto-MPP boots is what got me into the community. i really loved it but i have such a bad memory that it feels kind of lost :(

chapel hill, nc, 2009-09-27
this was a good show but they were "big" by that point and the crowd got on my nerves. some bro almost fought me and i think someone jumped on stage and tried to crowd surf or something lame like that?

chapel hill, nc, 2010-04-23 (oddsac)
i helped out with merch or tickets at this showing and met deaks and geo and danny perez i guess? i had a fever and this is kind of a blur.

raleigh, nc, 2010-09-10 (panda bear)
i was downtown at small claims court and heard panda soundchecking and ran into danny perez and talked to him for a while. i listened to about half of the show that night from a few blocks away and then snuck in and heard the last few songs.

e: lol how old is this thread? oops
