Let's get exhaustive: AC release masterlist

Do we have one of these? Seems useful to pin something like this if we can get it complete enough to be useful to people who have missed obscure releases or b-sides and would like to hear more stuff they've been involved in.

Will try to colour code these with the members who appeared on it at some point

Call me out for tracks I've missed. Unless there's no music on it that's unique to the release like a b-side or a remix. This is a list for listening, rather than for gathering bits of plastic. Compilation appearances, remixes, whatever they had a hand in together or individually.

Oh nice! I see it on bandcamp now, yeah

Looks like it's still credited with a 2003 release date so might as well keep it like that. Maybe will link to bandcamps and stuff in the OP

Thanks Dusty :)

Thanks roopn, I forgot Brother Sport had "Bleed" as the b-side. Fireworks was just a picture disc though so no extra music on that

I'll check their Wikipedia pages for more of this stuff when I'm not studying for my English exam

seconding jfw7 re: atiba song. is this to be a comprehensive list of everything AC has output, or only official and quasi-offical releases? because if the former then there's a boat load missing. what about remixes? guest appearances? radio sessions?

if the latter, then my first observations would be to add: "brother sport" / "summertime clothes (live at the music box)" that were included as downloads for mpp, "pop" by jane (bonus on jap edition of berserker), "safer (live)" on the causes 1 comp, "fireworks (live)" on the live at kexp (vol 6) comp, "untitled (live)" by deakin on the get weird comp, "oi bori sujie" by avey on electric ladyland, the spotify session release during CHz era, "suspend the time" by deakin and geo for the ocean foundation, "Ballad of Reverend War Character (Silver Jews Cover)" by avey and geo from the o'brien system, "maya" from the dj sets in 2014, "untitled" by deakin from the dj sets in 2014.

Yes there is definitely a boat load missing! Sorry shouldn't have deleted the bit mentioning this is a work in progress!

Thanks so much guys, will do some more work on it this weekend.

I'm gonna try to keep it to "releases" for now, rather than one-off "broadcasts" that were bootlegged. So radio shows and songs that were included in DJ sets I will leave out. Unless they put them up on bandcamp or soundcloud or whatever. Might make a separate list of unreleased songs.

I'd say Atiba counts at this point, dunno if he did any mastering on it but it's a studio recording that he shared himself. Not much different from the Tomboy singles or the stuff on Keep tape in terms of how "finished" it is.

Sorry for all the scare quotes.

no worries, yo. i love that you're doing this. i started a spreadsheet a while ago with the intention of cataloging everything (including audio rips of those clothing commercials noah scored) but it's fallen by the wayside. having a real master list would be a collector's treasure.

also -- some of the singles that radio edits that make them unique. i haven't been able to track down most of them but i know one version of the fireworks single and the wwiw?s single have edits.

Whatever criteria you land on ASCAP is going to be an essential resource

Avey Tare (All AC, Solo, and features)
Panda Bear (Solo & features)
Deakin Solo

This isn't perfect, missing some stuff (Suspend the Time, Harpy Sketches, Jane, etc.) and occasional miscredit for something (e.g. KKKK excepter song from the split they did together). But it's a start. Surprised Geo & Deak's soundtrack from earlier this year isn't on ASCAP

Was just taking a peek at this, and there’s something called “Bonfire” on Aveys page with all 4 boys credited as writers. Anybody know what this is?

Bonfire (of the Vanities) was a Panda Bear song the dudes played one or two times. Think this is the only boot of the full band performing it

ASCAP credits songs that were never recorded? I know bonfire got released on Homebase but that was all panda

Edit: there’s no ASCAP credit for What I Do which leads me to believe this Bonfire is something different

Yeah, very possible it's an error. Deakin gets credited on Michael Remember, again it's not perfect

Yeah probably just a crediting error I’m just fishing for literally any hint of a single coming... sitting here like “is Gem and I called Bonfire now”

i thought “bonfire” was the title score for one of the oddsac scenes? i know the dvd rip says “fried camp / vamp” or something but... hmm. does anyone see fried camp on ascap? last time i checked “homebase” is a listed song on noah’s ascap even though it’s not a song, so maybe bonfire is something similar (tho i has a theory that homebase is actually the part of laughed for a world filled with fantasy with the sam cooke sample)

Both Fried Camp and Fried Vamp are on ASCAP.

^^ i’m stumped about bonfire then. bonfire of the vanities is listed under panda...

and what is “heattech”?? it’s also listed under panda!

edit: nm. heattech is the title for the songs he did for that clothing brand...

My theory for homebase was that it was the title for the second half of bros

That's not a bad one, considering that it was "Carrots" on the single but "Good Girl / Carrots" for the album

I think if he had called it "Bros / Homebase" on the single that might have given the impression that Homebase was on the other side of the record

Person Pitch and Tomboy had such drawn out release schedules, they make Young Prayer and Down There and Pullhair Rubeye seem even more insular and monolithic by comparison

Yeah that too

The first 43 minutes is the A-side and then Ponytail is the B-side. I love that it's the shortest track too, like "ahhhh better put something new on here I guess"
