i definitely feel like the new stuff is kind of missing a layer of percussion thats usually present. maybe im just not used to panda bear on a basic kit, but i kind of wish it had more stuff going on with it.

What new stuff? Are you referring to the songs they were testing out back in October? It’s a little early to be making any kind of judgements or comparisons wouldn’t you say ?

yes the new batch from october. I dont know, im just used to the drums not sounding so one dimensional. think about the kit for centipede, or the kind of drumming he did for sj, mpp, feels. its just kind of missing something to me, idk. like the rhythms are totally fine, all good, but i just wish the kit was different

the difference in kit alone made me keen as hell to hear these new jams, and is part of what makes them so exciting to me now I've heard them. such a different approach for them! for me, it works
