Would you guys hate me if I made a Feels thread? What did you think of this album? Did you love it? Did you hate it? Why? What do you think I should review next?

I think feels may be the best AC album.
The love album.
The order of the songs is just perfect.
Especially the "dream sequence" of bees-loch.
SOOOO GOOOOOODD

Yeah it is sequenced perfectly. 4 upbeat songs, followed by 4 mellow/droney songs then closed off with turn into something which is a combination of both.

Well it is pretty cheerful to me, and it definitely isn't similar to the droney tracks in the second half

My one problem with Feels is that Turn into Something starts really upbeat though, and it's pretty jarring for me after those previous 4 songs. I've actually wondered if DYStW would work better as a closer, even though that's a heresy.

the best part about Turn into Something is that you get taken out of that head space(the dream that iko refered to) for second. but then it takes you right back.

Sometimes I secretly wish that Banshee Beat was placed right before Turn Into Something, and Bees just went straight into Daffy Duck. Just makes the album flow better for me, personally

Exactly!
It lays you to sleep before bidding you farewell!

I've definitely warmed up to daffy duck over time but it's still a song that i really have to be in the right mood to listen to

I'm pretty sure that was the very last AC song that I finally "got." But once I got it, oh man. One of my favorites on the album.

Oh man, guys. This album. The first one that got me was Purple Bottle (and I still want to run a million miles per hours to my girlfriend through blurred fields). In my initial exploring of the album I listened to the bonus live tracks at the end and was so struck by Banshee Beat. The way things slowly build-I feel each element as it comes in and then drips through my fingers). I was weirded out by Bees for a long while, reminded me a lot of Daman Alborn's Monkey:Journey to the West. Bees made me hesitant about showing this album to some, just felt like it was too..almost childish. But that strumming is hypnotic and beautiful, I have learned.

"I haven't seen you in a week or three days" Oh what a beautiful way to describe it! I flipped out about Flesh Canoe when I learned what it was all about (before that i thought it was a rather dull song). And the singing in Did You See The Word is so dreamy it almost belongs on Fall Be Kind! So beautiful,

It took me so long until i got into Flesh Canoe and Daffy Duck, but it just somehow all came together one day when i listened to feels on a walk around the suburb.
Did You See the Words was my favourite AC song for the first few months i was into them, i think it's one of the most immediate and easy to get into out of anything they've done.

I fucking hate Feels. I just wanted to see if anyone else on an Animal Collective message board did.

some of you will want to shoot me but I've often secretly wished that daffy duck was replaced with tikwid. I feel like that would have balanced the upbeat songs and the mellow ones a little better. I like the mellow mid section of the album but I feel like it drags just a tiny bit. I love every song except daffy duck so it feels like the one that should have gone. maybe if it was half as long, and then tikiwid could have squeezed on too..

still a 5 star album btw... this just would have made it absolutely perfect rather than just normal perfect.

i see what yer sayin - i dont really dislike daffy duck at all, but i feel like maybe it wouldnt have suffered from being shortened a bit? or maybe if they shuffled around the tracklist a bit like "...banshee beat, loch raven, tikwid, turn into something" - i always kinda felt like the start of "TIS" feels a bit abrupt after all the mellowness, so maybe tikwid would help ease into it better?
but w/e, feels is still my fave AC album anyway, and i'm not the band - i'm sure they chose the songs they chose for a reason, and i respect that desicion

Oh yeah i definitely agree that the mellow section is a little too long, either tikwid or fickle cycle should've made it on there.
