Geo played this compilation of live transitions from the MPP tour days in '09 yesterday on the O'Brien System. It's pretty cool. Goes well with a glass of Nostalgia Lemonade.

Probably Geo did cuz it's his radio show
I still haven't had the chance to listen to this but I'm really excited to, the live transitions and atmospheres from the MPP area are some of the greatest shit they've ever done

it's cool, but feels kinda nonessential for weirdos who already listen to bootlegs. they're well-edited, but you'll recognize them all
i was trying to decide what would be the coolest MPPX release. full-length rehearsal tapes from march or april 2007? those grim reaper atp rehearsals were such a great gift for the bootleg fans, so something like that would be wild (and more interesting given the full-band dynamic. panda's solo stuff has the sense of arriving more fully formed)

Are any of these recordings available in full show format? Or anything similar? I would check the live recordings thread but there are so many options I get overwhelmed

yeah Big Sur and 9:30 Club are both kind of definitive 2009 boots. big sur's one of the few soundboard recordings, right?
i'm reuploading these as single archives since mediafire removed their 200mb limit a few years ago, so they might not be active yet

That's their holy grail for me.

The editing is really good on this, kind of turns the stuff into a Slowdive Pygmalion thing where the songs are stripped down to their barest and least-songy essence.

this would've been a cool addition to their catalog of releases and something that'd be cool. i'll echo what jetski and archie said... the atmospheres they created during their 2009 shows are some of my favorite recorded AC

Hi all, this is sick!--can someone send me an mp3. For some reason I can't DL the wav file.
Mentioned this in general before seeing this thread:
Man, this gives me chills. I never thought I'd hear these sounds again, never mind soundboard recordings from my first AC concert ever. I feel transported back to 2009 and remember some of these transitions like it was yesterday.
This is really special. Someone on YouTube said it first, but it's really nice growing up and growing older along with AC. These releases are real treats.

Gets my hopes up for the band to release some or ALL of the shows featured....
I think the biggest hurdle with bands releasing live material is going back and listening to / mastering each show to see if it's worthy of release. Take The Who for example, who recorded the entire Tommy tour and when faced with the task of listening to all of the shows to see what to release, simply chose Leeds because it stuck out.
Now we know Geo, in a Herculean effort, has sifted through a good portion of the era's boots and cherry-picked some truly dope cuts. Could mean something big is on the horizon for MPP10.....or this is all we get, which is still a super cool, creative way of celebrating the era.
On a side note, Toronto 2009 was my first AC show and it gives me chills to hear portions of that throughout.

the gang did talk about doing some special MPPX stuff this year right? do we have any traction on what that might look like? I'm loving the crispy pops
