Person Pitch on the first day of spring

Really, I'm not sure there's anything like it--playing Person Pitch on the first day of spring. There's a feeling of euphoria this album conjures up, especially on a warm day preparing to welcome the warmth and longer nights. When Bros bursts open in the second half of the song, with the spring sun shining through the car windows, you feel almost reborn. What an incredible album to accompany the coming of spring, from its physical feeling to the themes we associate with the season.

For me, the feeling of new warmth after months of cold makes me think of Person Pitch, and I play it every time. Just wanted to share.

Yeah I think it's very much a "weather getting warmer" record for me too. I think out of all the main Animal Collective releases and solo albums this is one of the ones that took the longest to resonate with me. It's so sprawling with noises, and so textured, that it's not easy to keep up with everything; and it's so chilling and heartwarming at the same time when you hear those cries on "Bro's" or those loops on "Search for Delicious". Seriously one of the best albums in the Animal Collective canon.

Person Pitch is one of my favorite things to listen to when traveling and visiting a new place. Because of this I tend to listen to it pretty rarely, but that's a good thing in a way, keeps the magic alive.
