This is pretty painful for me. I live in San Francisco but will be out of the country visiting family for exactly these two weeks. I am a big enough fan that I would have flown to New York or wherever to see him if even that would have worked. Fuck.

I've still never seen Panda Bear because he never comes to the PNW... hoping that will change with this tour! if he's already in SF he might as well keep going north!

Glad he's coming back to Boston... but UGH, the Paradise? Again?! Third time he's played there and it's the worst venue in the city, I wish he was playing 2 nights at the Sinclair instead...

Was really hoping Noah would make his first ever solo stop in Colorado, but not this go around.

Out of all of these venues which would you guys recommend the most?

Yeah what's so bad with the Paradise? I love it there, I don't know if it's my favorite by any means but it's a good, historic venue. Granted, I might pass on this one since money's tight and it's only been a few months since I saw him play this same material there, but that's got nothing to do with the choice of venue.

ime they tend to book artists that are slightly too big to be playing there, which makes the crowds almost unbearable

ive never been to a single show there where my view hasn't been obstructed by way too many people or a pillar (god!! those fucking pillars WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE it is a MUSIC VENUE), it just isn't laid out for people to have a good view unless you get there super early and it's also annoying af having to stay in front of arbitrary white lines in the back/getting yelled at by guards if you don't (ive never had to deal w this at any other venue in boston)

anyway this is going off topic
hype af for the show regardless of venue
hope we get something off tomboy this time around

This. I feel like people like the Paradise because of the artists who perform there rather then the venue itself... because the layout is terrible (before and after it's renovation). Prior to the reno, the stage used to be at this weird angle and would come out to where the pillar on the left side(facing the stage) is and I think it used to have a smaller capacity... but you would think that when they renovated it they'd switch things around and put the stage where the merch table usually is so more people can see center stage, but nope they just pushed it back so the pillars are even more in the way. Not to mention the sound quality at the Paradise is shit. There's not many great venues in Boston that check all the boxes, the only exception is The Sinclair which is absolutely perfect in every way (sounds amazing, no matter where you're at in the venue you can see... not to mention the bar being at a separate level from the stage helps prevent crowd chatter).

I think Noah's a little attached to the Paradise though from his BU days... someone should tell him the Sinclair is where it's at now. ;)

Anyone know if it’s easier to go through the eventbrite website vs app? I’m gonna be doing this from my phone and am praying for a smooth transaction.

look up the pioneer works in brooklyn. it's a pretty sick space. i'm sure it's a cool show. i saw him at the paradise and it was a bit crowded and just not the best for seeing and hearing our boy.

Lodge Room in LA looks to be the smallest venue on this tour (holds 500) and is pretty easy on the eyes:

Panda is playing at this Pitchfork event at the Art Institute of Chicago in February https://midwinter.pitchfork.com/

Tickets go on sale tomorrow @10am central. It's little confusing but looks like u buy a base ticket for $50 for the whole weekend that gives u access to some of the stuff, but a lot of the shows including Panda require additional add-on tickets ($15 - $30). Kinda annoying but the lineup is fucking sick

That's the show that was only on a few of the tour announcement posts. I'm guessing he wasn't supposed to mention it until after Pitchfork announced the whole event. Seems expensive but yeah good lineup

I think that is the best line up I have ever seen!!! Panda Bear, Grouper, William Basinski, Kamasi Washington, Jlin AND Deerhunter all at the same gig!?!
Not to mention Slowdive, Mount Eerie, Yves Tumor, OPN, Weyes Blood plus soundscapes from Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Julia Holter, and Visible Cloaks!?! DAMN that is a stacked event!!!

That would make a lot of sense, I had the opportunity to talk about the neighborhood with him after the last show there and he seemed just a little nostalgic, but I was so excited that I can hardly remember the details and I may well be projecting.

I will concede however that the Sinclair is great. I saw John Maus there in February and I was satisfied with the sound quality, plus it's about the same distance from where I live as the Paradise is so I guess it wouldn't matter too much.

def going to this Art Institute fest, seems rad as well. Deerhunter and Panda are both playing the modern wing.
