Looks like Deakin is opening a show for Gang Gang Dance in New York in July

I haven't listened to GGD really but seeing Deakin live sounds neat.

for me it's got that cold, corporate feeling with a desperate attempt to be "bushwick industrial". idk. just too much money put into the space and doesn't even sound great in there. maybe i'm just sad watching elvis, shea stadium and silent barn close while venues like that and brooklyn steel (really don't like that venue) go up. they're booking great bands though

I was there. I got a few videos and posted a clip of his last song- https://www.instagram.com/p/BkW7pbinsas ... 16b75plppa

It was pretty cool. He also played Golden Chords and Wide Eyed along with the new ones.

Iโ€™m the reddit guy that recorded. Assuming yours is better Dance, mine was just from my phone. Though my friend got a great pic that could be used as album art.

Oh also the setlist as I remember it was: New Song, DownDownDownDown, Wide Eyed, New Song, Golden Chords, and Harpy. 40 minute long set. The new stuff was really good, especially the second new song. But I canโ€™t be totally sure if he didnโ€™t play either of those in Baltimore a couple months ago or if theyโ€™re from the New Orleans AC stuff like DownDownDownDown is. Iโ€™ll have to listen again. Great show. And GGD were amazing.

Having been to nearly every NYC venue numerous times, and working in the industry itself, Elsewhere & BkSteel are 2 of the best venues to come to town in years. Sound is almost always perfect, they're never too packed, and they're bringing in quality mainstream & underground acts. Different strokes for different folks, but just wanted to give a differing perspective.

Liked Brooklyn Steel. James Murphy also seems psyched on it in his Best Show appearance, not that heโ€™s an end-all-be-all authority on venues, but still.

Also thought I saw Hisham Bharoocha and Jeremy Hyman helped paint st elsewhere recently? Wouldโ€™ve been in his IG story, so that at least strikes me as cool that artists are hands on involved there and psyched on it.

yo yo, GGD heavily implied during their live stream that Deakin is gonna be opening up on their tour.
someone asked for a GGD/AC tour, GGD asked if Deakin would suffice, then when asked if he was gonna be with them on tour they responded with a thumbs up emoji.
Nothing confirmed but potential ayyyy

Hey everyone, sorry I went to my parents' house for the holiday and just got back a couple days ago so I've been slow at doing this one. I'm almost finished with it and should be able to post this weekend! It's sounding very, very good. I haven't listened to Avey Pear's yet, so no disrespect to your recording. I bet it's solid too! It'll be rad to have two versions of this show. It's so full of emotion.
