Animal Collective podcast

Does anyone want to be on an Animal Collective podcast? One song discussed per week, break it down, look at the lyrics, themes, sounds, give personal memories and stories attached to the song. Give it a review, place it in the context of their discography and rank it in quite a crude but well-intentioned way. Let's say they've written five hundred songs, we would do it for about ten years. We can have rotating sporadic guests from CA, the subreddit and Spiritposting.

I would genuinely do this because I'm possibly having a midlife crisis and need to leave my mark.

Is there an easy way of podcasting together over the internet? Genuine question from a dumbo.

If there is I'd certainly be interested in derailing a few good discussions.

Alternatively we could commit two hundred hours to once and for all settling the PBMTGR debate

I'm down! It'd have a pretty niche audience obviously but it'd be fun to record.
Calling dibs to be included in the episode about Visiting Friends :)

Yea sounds like fun! Do we have a collective soundcloud? or googledocs? upload things we make there? come up with a standard format for each 'sode/cast so it has some uniformity? or maybe them being different is the appeal.

very down to do this! I have some experience with being in quite a few podcasts. usually use teamspeak but haven't in about a year. allows people to join a server and talk and also lets you record. I think it's used for gaming. idk.
anyways hi I am down

I’d listen to this if Stan is the host and each episode he has on a different guest

Stan, you’re definitely the most entertaining hard core AC fan out there

I'd love to. I know i dont have a long posting history here but I'd love to be involved. I've been on the radio/podcasts before and I love (but can still critique) this band.

There are some songs I've spent a lot of time thinking about from a songwriting perspective and also from a perspective of how the sounds might have been created. Hope I can be included in a couple.

Thanks for all the positive responses, folks. I certainly have to get things set up at my end because I don't have a mic and while I've done some Shoutcast stuff with my laptop, I've never used it for a conversation. Leave it with me and I'll get on the case.

The McElroy brothers (who make My Brother My Brother and Me) Skype each other or something but at the same time they record their own voice into a programme on their computer and then the three individual sound recordings are synced up and mixed together. So they're getting the quality of their microphones straight into the computer rather than the sound they're hearing from the Skype conversation.

I also really want to do this. Literally the only reason is I don't have a computer any more and it's a waste of money buying one because I use one enough at work and I use a tablet for all Internet browsing at home home. Maybe I can use my work laptop, though I'm not allowed to install software on it because it's full of work related data. I could get fired and my work could get sued, which is why I haven't done it previously. Sorry to be useless with this.

From pitchfork

"Whether or not people can be sympathetic to this or not, I can’t qualify buying a computer to do this podcast.”

Three months after promising an overwhelmingly anticipated podcast, Stanshant supporters have complained that they have yet to receive any of the rewards (podcast, guest spots), and haven't been offered much explanation as to why. Some have accused him of the most extreme messageboard infraction-- of using the platform to bankroll a vacation to Hawaii-- while others are simply frustrated they haven't gotten their promised gifts.

Yesterday, we spoke to Stanshant about his troubles. He talked to Pitchfork on the phone:

"I feel sad, but I've set up a situation where that could be the perception and I understand that", he said. "There are a couple things that are being misconceived."

The primary misunderstanding, Stanshant told me, is the belief that he was bound to a strict schedule of any sort for putting the show out, he says. "I realized that I felt incredibly uncomfortable about the idea of asking people to do the podcast with me... that's why the project was on hold for a long time."

Still, the question remains as to why Stanshant failed to follow through on updates of any sort to enthusiastic supporters. Why not just throw together some photos and notes and send them out? The answer can be interpreted as unsatisfyingly simple or as logical and justifiable.

"I also really want to do this. ", he said. "Sorry to be useless with this."

Shall I start a Kickstarter for a new computer? Could I count on everyone here to throw in a hundred dollars each? We can get that podcast going straight away if so. What's the other one besides Kickstarter? Not Patreon. Something like cashmeup.
