I’ve been learning guitar and I wanted to learn how to play Grass but I’m not sure what the strumming pattern is. Can anyone help me out?

I think I tried playing this a while back. Tape delay setting helps? I think a short time setting helps get the flam effect.

If you don’t have that I’d check out the acoustic version.

When I'm playing unaccompanied I like to play one measure as D D DUDU with each down being on each of the four downbeats. Sounds sweet if you play it swung slightly. I listened to the acoustic version and probably wouldn't recommend a complete beginner to try to copy that.

For how it's played in the studio (probably outside your scope if just learning) , a fair guess can be made from the live versions. Live avey just strums once down on the beat, and lets the delay do the rest for him, it sounds like the delay is timed so that it falls where the in between the beat, in eighth notes. I've read people say there is yet another delay in the chain, but I personally do not hear it, at least in this song.

As for the harmony in the intro, I'd like to know that. I've tried to reproduce it but it gets *very* hard to hear both guitars.
