The Best Recording of Fireworks

What is the best recording of Fireworks? The ultimate performance?

Is it a super loud, super energetic 2006 one with Deak's guitar mixed way louder?

Is it a 2007 17-minute epic with Essplode in the middle and an extended jam?

What is the ultimate version of this ultimate song

definitely needs essplode in the middle and maybe even lablakely

Grrrnd Zero, Lyon, France[/s]

Absolute best. Unless I have it confused with a different time they played there. Best quality recording and performance.

EDIT: Er! I've made this mistake before and it became apparent when I revisited the boot in question. Don't know why I keep doing this, but Lux Fragil (2008) is the one I'm thinking of. Grrnd Zero is an excellent one but not what I had in mind when I made this post. Rats

This is the correct answer.

Video for the uninitiated:

this one has them both together:

2008-07-19
Pitchfоrk Music Festival, Chicago, IL, USA

but maybe Lablakely was just the intro and should've been split...

ah, i do remember that one. I'm pretty sure it's incomplete (skips in the recording) but i can't verify at work

Updated my original post, was thinking of the wrong boot (they're similar but Lux Fragil tops lyon boot for me)

I've only ever flicked through that one for the songs I wanted, funnily enough. Great sound quality, from memory, but I have mostly listened to the Norway show from 2008, and even that much less than the 07 recordings. I'll check out the full Lux Fragil today.

Glastonbury 09 is actually a great call too, brilliant performance and great sound.

it has got to come back some day. i mean i guess it doesn't have to, and maybe somehow its a vibe they/avey would never want to revisit, but like, everything has basically proven to come back. alvin row came back and that wasnt even really seriously expected to... but ya, im personally bummed i never caught them in time for fireworks. that will always be like my deep down favorite jam, i know when it does come back it will be truly glorious...

if 09 was the last time they fireworked then that puts them on track to take it out of storage in time for next tour/album cycle so its a 10 year thing. everyone at that show the first time will die of euphoria like we almost did when they hit us with that alvin row/loch raven/bees shit a couple years back

Is there a full boot of this (it’s a multiple vid post)? That’s the surfiest I’ve heard fireworks sound. There’s that part of fireworks where it really sound like they could’ve taken off into Alvin row in a way that would explode my head. Rhythmically and melodically could’ve worked they did Alvin row abridged on PW tour

Oh shit, unearthed by JKubizne who did the visuals for the show. Also did the videos for Oliver Twist and Ms. Secret.

I met my high school/college girlfriend during the fireworks jam at Lollapalooza. 4 years ago, after we broke up, I havent really liked listening to that song very much.

But now I’m getting major nostalgic feels watching this Melt Fest vid. It’s got so much soul. The peak during that jam deserves a Pysch Rock gold medal
