"Wayward Son" is available now and the other 2 tracks featuring Avey will be out November 10th with the full album.
Pretty incredible hearing Dave's vocals in this very-different-from-AC-style sonic atmosphere.

Wow. I thought it was only one song too. That’s awesome.

whole album is super sweet. love these new Avey tracks. I'm wondering if he was presented the finished tracks to wordsmith or they worked actively together on it

This album was a little overproduced imo, but I love the Avey features, especially Wayward Son

^agreed with both of the comments above. She's obviously very talented but her parts are so cringey. Sometimes she sounds like Nicki Minaj which is jarring, especially after Avey

I actually really enjoy this record. I was pleasantly surprised. It kinda sounds like if AC and Gang Gang Dance made a record together in a lot of places.
I dont mind the female rapper that much, the political lines are a little too much but other than that its still enjoyable. I am obviously biased but the Avey songs are the best part of the record for sure. Doesn't sound like a record that a 74 year old drummer from the grateful dead would create.

It's neat to hear Avey in a pop setting, as his presence on a track & singing style is so anti-traditional-harmonies (Wayward Son). His voice feels a lot more at home in Time Beyond Reason and You Remind Me. Even just the timbre of his voice is introspective/ retrospective (bias/ conditioned?)..so the dancey-poppy backdrop is a pleasantly strange combination
