We got hit with some bleak stuff at the end, but I found it very inspiring

That's the world we live in unfortunately. Whether our moronic president believes it or not.
But damn, that ending was beautiful. Banshee Beat playing in the background against gorgeous imagery of the Amazon River, the Rio Negro, the rainforest, and that rainbow gave me some serious feels. Maybe if Trump and Pruitt watched that scene, they'd change their tune
I loved it overall. Especially liked seeing how the dudes react outside of an interview or a live setting. And all the little makeshift sounds and moments being patched together. Like when Dave and Sandro were messing with the leaf reeds or seeing the resort where they stayed at. All of those tidbits makes MotW even more special

the video series was really great. almost a "how it was made" with meeting of the waters ep. makes me appreciate the music even more.

that was really beautiful and inspiring.
the part where they're on the small boat with dave playing guitar and the guide making the bird noises is one of my favourite moments of the EP. super sweet to see how it came to that.

This was very enjoyable. I've always wanted to see some sort of formal doc about them and their process. Would be cool to see an album from the songwriting to the studio then end with some live footage.

I love how Avey and Geo are both holding Critter and Guitari Kaliedaloops when they're recording the tribal music. Those things are so much fun.

Yeah, I kinda want one now! I wonder if there's a way to snag one in Canada...

One wonderful and heartbreaking moment after another. It couldn't have come out at a more timely moment. I only just got the EP title when I saw the last few moments of the film. Beautiful symbiosis of modern man and the rest of the animal kingdom and habitat. It gives me some hope, if not for the future of our planet then at least for the soul of humanity.

It's awesome to see that the guide putting that leaf on his tongue is what made the weird sound in the third track, I was wondering what it was when I heard it the first time

This was really heartbreaking but also beautiful and magical at the same time. I really didn't expect to get basically a full hour animal collective documentary. There were so many funny silly moments. Avey tare cracks me up !

I loved the bit where he turns up in that thick shirt buttoned to the top and the guy says, "you can just wear a normal shirt, you'll be hot in that" and Dave is like "oh?".
So many funny and loveable little reactions and exclamations.

I got a kick out of the guide saying "yes, you're very creative!" and avey doing that bashful expression that's like "well..."

That part made me so happy
This documentary was so amazing, it was even better than I was expecting. Agree with the others who said the video makes the EP even more special. So cool to see the travel and recording process, but also just amazing to get a 1 hour documentary starring and soundtracked by Animal Collective. I'm so grateful that this exists, it feels like Christmas tbh

this part was really touching but also I found it hilarious that Sonny was talking about how Brian was quietly having this unique experience that the rest of them didn't understand and then later Brian says "I think everyone there thought it was equally special"

lmao and also in that part Dave has his comment about dolphins being like underwater chickens, but the way it's edited is so funny; it starts to fade out right as he says it, almost like they didn't intend it to be heard in the doc lol

Since there's no way any of the other episodes will be as good as this one they should just change it to a show about following around Avey n Geo while they travel the world making field recordings

Just watched it. Wow. I feel like it's sort of a perfect companion to the ep. Very beautiful doc. Also, I just love watching the guys do their thing, especially in such a natural candid way. I wonder what it would be like to chill with those lads. I agree with y'all about some of those unforgettable little moments (Geo literally seeming overwhelmed with bliss like several times haha, Dave making bird sounds with the guide, and HOLY FUCK when they played Man of Oil.) The pink river dolphins, the animals, the lads little idiosyncrasies and attitudes, the hotel, of course all the gorgeous nature, etc.... Too many to name.
Seeing how they made it really enriches the experience of listening to the ep too. So fucking cool.

Yeah I'll have to check it out again but I might agree lol
Maybe he's better at live albums/field recording??
Trying to think of what my favourite sounding AC record would be... Sung Tongs comes to mind. And Down There and Pullhair Rubeye are good sounding side projects.

I love that Steve Hauschildt track that they used in this
Did anyone else notice towards the end when they used Did You See the Words that the editors added this reversed cymbal/swell sound effect to make it sound slightly more dramatic? lol

Which was the Hauschildt track? There was two I didn't recognise and one of them was sweet
