c u there
just saw slowdive at brooklyn steel. wasn't a huge fan of the venue. my friend thought they were trying too hard to make it a big venue that large names will play but also make it seem cool and underground. to me it feels cold. sort of like terminal 5. HOWEVER it sounded really great and im sure the boys will add an energy to it that slowdive couldn't.

Yasss, same deal over here on the West Coast. Thursday/Friday AnCo in Seattle/Portland then Saturday/Sunday Ween in Bend/Redmond. 4 nights of my 2 fave bands, WHUT? Might not survive. Portland is the last stop of the tour (not counting the MPP July dates) so maybe we can talk them in to coming to see Ween on Saturday

I've been there a few times now (LCD x2, Tycho, AC), and I really love it. Really solid sound pretty much anywhere outside the first 5 rows, great sight lines, quick entry and bar lines, not too packed especially near the soundboard and on the left side. Basically no reason to go to T5 anymore. Highly recommend checking it out.

Sounds like NYC Taper recorded the show last night
This is great news, since his recordings are always some of the best (second to DAD's of course

At the beginning of the encore, Avey also teased us by saying something about wanting to play Man of Oil but not having any acoustic guitars. Anyone hear what he said? Maybe a live premiere coming soon...

he said "i'd be a hypocrite if i said we couldn't play man of oil because it was written on acoustic guitars...because the song we're about the play was written with acoustic guitars"
then they played kids on holiday (they played the hell out of that song)
the new sweet road is fuckin aweessooommmeee
loved taste. i was worried that pandas vocals wouldn't quite be there for it since its my fav part of the song but he was really in top form last night. i find my favorite AC shows are the ones where panda really goes for it vocally and doesn't hold back. he killed it last night

Lots of good Avey moments. Someone screamed out "PEACEBONE!!!" and Dave said "Pizza?? That's not one of our songs!" Then someone shouted "YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO COLLEGE" and Dave laughed and said "Well it's an option..."
Later he danced and screamed so hard his hat fell off
Maybe my favorite of 4 PW shows (probably because it had the most old stuff / least PW haha) and the boys just seemed happy and excited to be playing. Sweet Road and Pride and Fight were better than I even expected, Bees is INTENSE, and I love when they do anything new to Taste.

Same, Fitter. Definitely my favorite of the 4 PW shows that they've played in NY. Definitely did not care for the new Bees but everything else was pretty stellar. Pride and Fight completely blew me away!

Seems like they kind of combined new Bees and new Loch Raven.
Also why does Avey say the Deakin intro to Good Lovin Outside for KoH?

D.a.d. and nyctaper, you guys are gods amongst men in this forum. Provided so many great recordings in the past. Really excited to hopefully download in the morning before work to compare song differences to the moogfest set. Thanks so much in advance.

This is going to seem like a weird observation but it seemed like Aveys eyes were open more during this performance than in the past. Like him looking at the audience more

You know what was actually the most frustrating thing about this set? They played Guys Eyes and Taste back to back...but took a break between and didn't do the freaking flute transition. Been waiting 10 years to hear that again haha

Maybe they wanted it to be more of a surprise. It didn't kick in that it was taste when they were doing the initial vocal trade-off
