Predictions for 2017 Tour?

Hey all! I'm curious what everyone's expecting from this new tour. Returning songs, new songs, new song orders, stage decor/set-up, instrumentation, anything.
I'm trying to keep this to actual predictions, not wishes (we can all ask for our faves, it's more interesting to try to correctly guess what they'll do).
Personally, my money would have been on them doing basically what they did last year, just adding songs from The Painters, bring back some more old tunes, and dropping some PW songs, all with the same instrumentation as last time.
I do think we might see some sort of set-up change based on their openers though. Last time Ratking and KAS really matched different aspects of what they were doing with the PW live set-up, but the slated openers for this tour are a drastic shift in sound that might indicate the boys will be changing things up.
If there are no changes, I think we'll probably see some more Sung Tongs songs done the same way they played them during the MPP tour, and possibly either chores or Derek, depending on which is easier for them to rework.

My guess is also that it'll be similar to last year's tour with some Painters material thrown in. Hopefully Pride and Fight sticks around for a few more shows as well

Peacebone would be awesome, but I remember them saying they won't be playing songs that they played heavily on the last tour (referring to the 2013 one) and since this seems like an extension of the 2016 one, my guess is the same rule applies. But who's to say?
I'd love if Pride and Flight stuck around. I've been dying to hear them bring it back, and it'd be a shame if it was only played a handful of times, especially since they haven't released any recordings of those shows.

I bet it'll be more of the same- imo the only safe bet is that Kinda Bonkers gets added, and hopefully Peacemaker, too. I imagine they'll bring out a couple old songs. I hope Pride & Fight sticks around, although that might've been a temporary thing - I thought it was a pretty powerful thing for them to debut that on election night last year.

Spoke with Noah at the surprise LA show at the start of the year and he mentioned they'd try to add new songs to the set (made it sound like new ADDITIONS to the set, not new material) so it seems like it will still be a "Painting With" tour.

That's really cool, love new songs in the mix. Makes the bootleg collection ever better. I'm a big fan of WWIWS. They could play that in NoHo and I'd be a happy camper.

i'm guessing.......all 4 ep songs make their way into the sets. and a merriweather song they haven't played in a while (but not brother sport or my girls...maybe in the flowers or no more runnin). and one unlikely throwback (fickle cycle pleeeeease please fickle cycle)

^Seems like a pretty solid prediction, since they added Summertime Clothes and Guys Eyes for the 2nd leg of last year's tour I could see them adding another MPP jam now. They played Lion in a Coma and Also Frightened in 2012/13 right? So those are probably less likely choices
Fickle Cycle or Tikwid would be sooo dope

They would light up dark star, some ambient jamming with a segue way between songs.

Oh my god I saw that and got embarrassingly excited.
This opens so many possibilities for songs. I could even see them bringing Fireworks back. That was something they skipped last year and 2013, right?

Fireworks hasn't been played since 2009.
I'd much rather hear a new Rev Green or #1 though

Idk, there's this interview from February last year where Avey says they're not interested in playing Fwx anymore
https://www.tinymixtapes.com/features/animal-collective
They could've changed their minds by now but I feel like it's still unlikely. I'm excited for whatever surprises they have in store tho

Oh, I forgot about that interview. You're probably right then.
Also, someone on the subreddit said they're pretty sure he's playing Sweet Road at a slower tempo, which does seem to be right. It's an out-of-left field addition to the set, but now that I'm thinking about it I think it'll be an awesome fit!

i think that article only pertains to the first leg of that show since in interviews around the time he was talking about not yelling too much

jeremy just posted more to his story. the latest one has a bunch of sport emojis ... goalkeeper??

^hm the beat is pretty different than Goalkeeper though...sorta reminds me of Hocus Pocus but sounds different from that too. Now time to wildly speculate about what rework could have that drum beat. Bluish? Safer??
Still probably a bit too fast to be either of those tho, hmm

yeah the bpm also threw me off ... just thought the emojis had something to do with it. could be sped up ?? i can see maybe bluish if avey is finally ready to play something like that

It wouldn't be a very re-worked Throwing the Round Ball, would it?
Maybe a transition into it?
It does sound more like something they would play to bridge two songs rather than an actual song, but it could be something, I just have no clue what.

Going solely on BPM, it does sound kinda similar to Someday I'll Grow to Be as Tall as a Giant, but I wouldn't expect them to play that, and it would be a radical change in that song's sound.
Also have no clue what to think of the emoji's. Racking my brain for other sports related songs.

Think that absolutely sounds like an intro to goalkeeper

The more I listen to it the more I think it sounds too Painting With-y to be a rework. Could be a Goalkeeper intro but the 4/4 kick drum rhythm throws me off since that song is in 3/4 (or 6/8 or something). But they could just be doing some polyrhythmic weirdness
