might be and funny if they'd have a 10" ready while that new 12" takes months to appear.

record store day stuff usually has to be submitted months and months and months in advance due to the time of production for all the stuff they try to get out then.

it'd be such a weird thing to make up, but yeah, hopefully we get some official word soon since rsd is in a little over a month.

It could have something to do with the Amazon Rainforest recordings they did last year

If it's real I hope there's a digital release too...


Also I hope Coral Orgy gets a release like TTG did, I was so glad they did that not to mention doing the app thing for it as well with all the stems

When do RSD releases typically get announced? It's only just over a month away.

I think I read the official announcement is around the 20th-ish

im gonna try to go to rsd this year. i havent bought any vinyl for years other than painting with and the local record shop moved into a bigger storefront down the block from me so i could get there early

It's included on Pitchfork's list as well. I wouldn't be surprised if its a soundboard recording put on vinyl from the Coral Orgy performance back in February. Going to call some local vinyl shops here to see if they are going to be carrying it.

I'd imagine since it's Coral Morphologic and Animal Collective working together, that it will be similar to the project that Geologist worked on with Coral Morphologic (Man O War). Probably going to be a sound collage/ambient driven release kind of like Transverse Temporal Gyrus.

Probably would have had to go to press a month or two before Coral Orgy in order to make it on time for RSD, could be a rehearsal jam though.

5 days until the official list is posted, I imagine there'll be a description / announcement to accompany this release if it's legit.

Probably not a full soundboard since the performance was an hour long, so it wouldn't fit on a single 10" record (or a 12" for that matter). Could see it being an abridged version or rehearsal recording like Sam said.

I could see it also being the recordings Geologist mentioned that he and Avey did with modular synths outdoors in an interview last fall. He was hesitant on saying any more because of when the interview might air, which would make sense if these are supposed to be announced by RSD itself.

0% chance it's a soundboard recording of the coral performance. nowhere near enough time to do vinyl pressing in time for rsd.

the modular stuff seems like a good possibility.

Demos of Coral Orgy stuff if we're lucky, but I think they'd want to do something more special for that.

Good to see confirmation regardless, I'm sure the band will announce some more details this week now that the list is public.

Hopefully not too much of a pain to get my hands on, 1200 isn't a whole lot.
