i think (hope) there are more artists being named......this feels kinda incomplete compared to last year
i am excited to see AC because i missed their NC stop in november but i understand the spring date means the performance is kinda late in the tour cycle. still i haven't seen any of the stretched out PW tracks and i've really enjoyed some of the boots
AC is also "headlining a conversation" in the "Future Thought daytime program" which could be cool even if it's likely to be crowded

i went in 11 but had such a bad migraine i didn't get to see anything except for a couple artists i wasn't even interested in. i went to the moogerfooger workshop but i didn't learn anything i didn't already know.

fwiw i volunteered last year and while it was far from a negative experience i don't think i would do it again. i had the same hopes about meeting likeminded people, and since i wanted to leave my evenings open for going to shows i helped with the various daytime workshops and lectures and so on. most of the people i worked with were young and wanted free concert tickets but literally only knew one or two performers on the entire program (and that includes RZA, who apparently did put on an awesome show). i definitely noticed volunteers who looked more like the crowd i was imagining so maybe i just ended up working shifts with a different population. ymmv obviously!
i'm glad i did it to save money, but when they offered $99 early bird tickets last may i immediately snapped em up. it'll also be a lot more fun to have my wife there this year and to be able to attend some of the daytime stuff. i really did have a great time last year!
more artists announced today i think!

I saw Derrick May in 98, asked him to sign my ticket stub, realised part way through his attempt to do so that sweat had softened the ticket to a quite disgusting extent. I'll never forget that look of pitiful contempt, completely justified.

see this is my dilemma..... I'm definitely going, and I prioritize seeing shows at night but i also really want to hit up a bunch of the workshops. it would be sweet to save money and I've already been accepted as a volunteer, but i'm tempted to just get a ticket instead since i want to have the full experience??? what do?????

i dunno... i also limited my shifts to thursd./frid. daytime because I had a 6mo at home and couldn't completely give up my time. it's possible you could get shifts that left nighttimes completely free but also allowed for some daytime stuff. it's cool to volunteer and you do get some cool moments, I hooked Lister Hewan-Lowe up with a tshirt last year and gave Jon from data garden a ride to his hotel. Like I said no negativity about it but I'm glad to just be an attendant. Lemme know in any case and I'll say hi

Got a press pass! I'll probably see Visible Cloaks over AC (they're at the same time) since I'm already seeing AC later in the summer but i'll post if i make it there

Yeah I know I'm torn about VC. All the church shows I went to last year were incredible. I think we'll check out the beginning and be a little late to the AC set, although that means we'll end up far away from the stage I guess. We'll see

The parrot segment was pretty captivating. Geo worked at a parrot store in New York and worked a private jimmy Buffett concert, and apparently got bit by the parrot from dr Doolittle while filming oddsac

Kinda bummed I missed the interview. Hopefully it crops up, should I try and record the webcast? My internet is decent but to record the audio on my mac I have to buy a $99 program to route audio from chrome into quicktime screencapture.

Just missed it and only caught the tail end. Got the recorder to work and gonna try and record it. Couldnt use soundflower cause my macOS is too new and its unsupported. If anyone else is thinking of recording please do in case my old computer cant handle the full show.
