Hey guys remember the Centipede Hz mix I did a while back? Well, I've remastered it and I'm re-releasing it! Was there really a need for this? Well, why not come to your own conclusions by yourself?

Edit 2023: lol this is old af, here's a link to the real deal [soundcloud]https://soundcloud.com/axeworld/this-is-the-new-centipede-final-mix[/soundcloud]

Hey AxeWorld, was revisiting this and Repainting Along the past few days. Repainting Along is masterful, and this one is really great too, sorry you stopped working on A Day with the Buoys. I noticed what sounds like double tracked vocals in some parts of each of the above 2 mixes you made—is that where studio vocals and live vocals are overlapping? Just curious

One other question—the OG New Centipede omitted Crimson and Honeycomb, if I’m reading the history right on this message board; when you remastered it and added those, was there a reason for omitting Gotham still? I’m guessing just no great live version/transitions to mix it with? Anyways just curious, great work again?

Oh yeah, vocals doubling are a consequence of the mixing approach here, which was pure brute force. Also my own inexperience, since this was the first time I got involved with anything sound/mixing related, before I even started to make my own music.
You can hear a lot of vocals clashing on all the mixes, pretty much every song has that problem of instruments and vocals overlapping in general. On New Centipede you can especially hear it on stuff like Father Time and Mercury Man cuz I used 2011 recordings and those had different lyrics, but I honestly didn't care that much, I just wanted to achieve the sound, professional mixing be damned. This was also before the dawn of AI, I'd prolly use a stem separator if I had to do it today. But overall I'm still pretty happy with how they came out.
And yes, Gotham just didn't have enough good quality recordings, plus the tempo they played it at was really out of whack, so it just wasn't worth it. And it is a shame because Gotham is awesome.

This is great. The original you did has been my preferred way to listen to czh for the last few years. Thank you for your service. Is there a download?

Hey thanks, hope it wasn't the original original tho, cuz I uploaded like 3 separate versions and the 2 first ones SUUUUCK.
Both New Centipede and Repainting Along should be in here.
