Hey guys, someone suggested we should make a definitive compilation of AC's songs. One year ago I made one with the following tracklist:

01 [untitled] - Free 103.9 Session, New York, NY, USA, 2001-05-09
02 [untitled] - Houston, TX, USA, 2001-05-21
03 Playpen - WNYC Spinning On Air, New York, NY, USA, 2004-07-30 (recorded 2001/2002)
04 Don't Believe the Pilot, KVRX, Austin, TX, USA July 11, 2003 (first played 2003-05-10)
05 Tuvin - WNYC Spinning On Air, New York, NY, USA, 2004-07-30 (first played 2003-07-15)
06 Guadaloops - Dublab, Los Angeles, CA, USA, 2003-07-17
07 Always You - Resonance FM Clearspot Sessions, London, UK, 2004-05-04 (first played 2003-07-17)
08 [untitled] - Cafe Unlimited, Bristol, UK, 2003-10-21
09 Covered In Frogs - April 26, 2004 (first played late 2003)
10 206 - La Fondation Cartier, Paris, France, 2004-04-08
11 Sleeper Factory - BBC Radio 1 Breezeblock Session, London, UK, 2004-04-26
12 Gas Mask - WNYC Spinning On Air, New York, NY, USA, 2004-07-30
13 Sponge Luke - Bowery Ballroom, New York, NY, USA, 2004-08-15
14 [untitled] - Other Music, New York, NY, USA, 2004-08-16
15 Happy Singing Band - Other Music, New York, NY, USA, 2004-08-16
16 [untitled] - Other Music, New York, NY, USA, 2004-08-16
17 What I Do - BBC Radio 1 Huw Stephens Session, London, UK, 2005-11-01
18 From a Beach (Maya) - BBC Radio 1 Session, London, UK, 2007-11-18 [broadcast date]

The thing is, since most of these are from the time when they had complementary EP's I started organizing them as such (WARNING: Some people will consider this sacrilege):

Animal Crackbox ends with both untitled tracks and Playpen (not ideal but it's the best place to put them in imo)

Danse ends with Forest Children Risen

Prospect Hummer has these tracks:

05 Baby Day
06 The Kite
07 Don't Believe the Pilot
08 Tuvin
09 Guadaloops
10 Always You
11 untitled
12 Covered in Frogs

People has these:

04 Must Be Treeman
05 Fickle Cycle
06 Wastered
07 206
08 Sleeper Factory
09 Gas Mask
10 Sponge Luke
11 Warmup Song
12 Happy Singing Band
13 untitled

Water Curses ends with Safer and What I Do

Fall Be Kind ends with From a Beach and Mountain Game

I know some of these aren't perfect but if fits well enough for me. Please, send corrections, suggestions, so we can all agree on a tracklist!!!

I don't see the appeal of putting live songs on the end of studio albums/EPs (yes I know People does that but I'd say that's their least album-like EP)

Also wouldn't Sleeper Factory be grouped with Prospect Hummer??

I agree with that in all scenarios except for 808s and heartbreaks, pinnochio story is the best track

but on the topic of AC, what's guadaloops? that's the only one mentioned that i've never heard

also I've always listened to safer as the last track on water curses, to the point where i forget that it's not on water curses

I'm always undecided. Sleeper Factory was played in 2004 when they started playing Feels material and the lyrics definitely sound more like something out of Feels but the fact that it's acoustic and only played by Avey Panda leaves me on the fence about that one

Fav is sponge luke playpen and always you. extreme shame thise never found their way to a record...and sleeper factory is acoustic feels (or might have sung tongs other tho they said prospect hummer had the outtakes but then what about pilot, frogs, always you) since it was played with other sung tongs and campfire songs and polly which ended up with purple bottle 7"

It's a good discussion to have, but I don't think there will be an agreed upon consensus on what should be on a rarities compilation. I personally am fine with listening to the songs on youtube, since I only really want to listen to one at a time.

Also, Pilot and Covered in Frogs were both released on Animal Crack Box

I think those lo fi versions don't do the songs justice. The versions I listen to are of a much higher quality
