Winter's Love tuning/chord question

I'm starting to pick up AC songs, and I'm not really used to playing in different tunings. But it's been fun learning. I must say, I've fallen in love with the sound of Open D and I've pretty much nailed their cover of 'On a Plain' and the 2nd half of 'Winter's Love' in this tuning. Using the Other Music set as reference. I was wondering if anyone more experienced then I am can tell me what chords I can play for the FIRST section of Winter's Love. Ideally, I'd like to stay in Drop D so I can play the whole thing right through.I'm guessing in that live set they had multiple guitars, in different tunings.

Oh also if anyone has suggestions on what Panda Bear/AC songs I should try and learn that'd be awesome. I know 'Tomboy' is full of guitar

thanks pal

the first chord progression in winters love is the same as the second one just higher up in key, something like 3 or 4 frets up iirc

I'd suggest using a capo and doing the first part with fingers and the 2nd part with a pick to get the different sounds.

On the album version, the first half is tuned one step lower than the second half, so you won't be able to stay in open D tuning and play both as they were on the record. This is probably why they did a fade transition between the two halves - they had to tune their guitars a step up after the first half. Plus I don't think they ever played both halves together live either..

ANYWAY, I think this is exactly how they play it. If you use the following tuning and chords, you should be able to hear the similarity.

Tuning: C# G# C# F G# C#

Chord progression: Eb Gm Bb Gm Ab Fm Eb

you could probably get by with a quick-change capo, using the low tuning, playing the first part, slapping the capo on a step up and then playing the second part. you'd have a pause in the transition though.
