Collected Animals

I know the boys have been touring basically non-stop since Painting With came out but I do find it weird that the two music videos they've released so far were both animated and kinda hum-drum for such a colorful album. No shade to 'Floridada'- that video was cool but by Animal Collective standards it was kinda weak sauce. Most of their videos are so engrossing that I feel compelled to watch them repeatedly but these ones felt a little stale and removed from the band members creative process. That being said, there have been a few month-long breaks on tour that could have been devoted to a music video and I feel like the band typically gives us a Halloween Treat, so fingers crossed we get something new next week, even if it isn't a music video!

Vertical and On Delay sound the most like potential singles. I was thinking Recycling but it's got too much buildup/downturn to work as a single, unless it was edited.

Also picked Hocus Pocus because it's my favorite from the album and the dinosaur quote at the beginning always inspires intense prehistoric imagery in my head

Agreed. My top 3 were The Burglars, Hocus Pocus and On Delay. But I went with the first two because those seem to have the most to work with lyrically. I personally find this fan made 'Hocus Pocus' video to be more in line with the Animal Collective spirit than Floridada or Golden Gal. I assume one of you made this?

Didn't they say they were going to release another single after they were on the BBC in the spring? My memory is certainly fuzzy but I thought it was on the Lauren Laverne show where they talked about it.
It's been quiet on the single release front and I couldn't figure out why.

Halloween is perfect for some Hocus Pocus but I'm holding out for Burglars.

The Burglars is the best song IMHO so I voted that but I'm really intrigued as to what a video for Hocus Pocus would look like.

I voted nat selection because I think it could be really trippy, I'm just imagining the whole screen melting when the song revs up in the "It feels like progress is the product of a hidden game" and then exploding with "strings tied to the hands"
