What albums/songs would you really want to hear Animal Collective cover?
I would love it if they covered Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band seeing as that was the biggest psychedelic album of its time from the biggest band of its time. Animal Collective is the closest thing to the Beatles of this generation. It would just be awesome to hear Animal Collectives take on the for father's of psychedelic pop. I don't think they'll ever do anything like this unfortunately.

definitely wouldn't say that, but...
I would really enjoy an AC cover album, or at least if they released a few covers. sgt peppers seems pretty cliche, theyd never do that. i would love it if they did an album of motown covers. seems like avey at least is into that.
in terms of them covering an entire album, i'd probably go with a pavement album, considering how much they all love pavement. they'd likely only do something like that with an album they truly love and know inside and out

Good point. I know it would be completely out of thier character to cover Sgt Peppers but I think it would sound awesome. I mean thier close to the Beatles of this generation in that they are the most innovative psychedelic pop group now days in my opinion. Musically they are obviosly quite a bit different from the Beatles.

I think they would sound amazing covering some of the more droney Beatles stuff like Tomorrow Never Knows or Within You Without You. I don't think it would ever happen either, but it's cool to imagine what their take on that stuff could sound like

Well if we're going off the Beach Boys comparisons I'd love to hear them cover Pet Sounds or SMiLE. Hell, even a majority of Love You would sound pretty cool with their interpretations. It would also be interesting to see how they handled Forever Changes considering that's Noah's favorite album. Even though this sounds really weird, I'd love to hear them cover Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads. The revolving quality of the songs would be easy for them to replicate through electronic loops. Remain In Light could work as well, since the latter half of that album is more ambient.
