Hi guys, this is Michael, I said a show sounded bad during the merriweather tour era. Last time I am gunna bring this up. It shouldnt have been said at all and there was zero justification for it. As an ignorant 21 year old I thought I would be fixing the situation by sending out a myspace message a few days later, acting as if the the sound was fixed off a suggestion. Trying to bring Noah up, as if it was being thought about. I figured I had cleaned up the mess and went about my life, letting record meanings and the messages go right above my head. I wasnt searching for lyrics at the time I suppose. There was a whole slew of emotions in those tracks looking back now. I figured I would give some further meaning towards Painting With.
FloriDada: A lot of this has to do with not making sense of anything at all. I would bring it up at least once a year, either with some way of trying to justify it, or just kicking the fence.
Helter Skelter: This one almost broke the camels back at my house, its actually probably the hardest one to explain. Most of it speaks for itself, it isn't a crime to make music and share it with people, its actually beneficial. This falls in line with Helter Skelter and its backstory, if you took out Charles Manson and made it a Disney story.
Vertical: These guys pretty much have checked up on my life progress over time as I have recently found out, what I thought were ghosts or gods at times where astral projections.
Lying in the Grass: I think the track has to do with trying to hide out rather than be more expressive and free-willing with things I make.
Burglars: This track is an acknowledgement of everything I have taken over the years via free download websites or YouTube. Its been something I have been trying to balance out and it will take a while to even out.
Natural Selection: This is about the life choices I made and how I have always taken the easy way of things. Be it go to school for the refunds or taking on fiscal challenges because I thought it would free me up at that time only to find myself in further debt than I was to start with.
On Delay: "Better late than never, but it's late as ever." Doubly clear goes back to the initial conversation I think, for some reason I thought I would be testy twice and reaffirm what I was saying even thought there was no real merit behind it. Also by insinuating Noah is turned on by the Delay, this would make me jump at putting music online. At the very least to clear my name
Spilling Guts: This one speaks for itself. I try to come back with more clarity only to dig myself further in to the ground, its something that just needs to be taken as is.
Summing the Wretch: This one punched me in the face when I figured it out. He plugged himself in to a people patch on social media without me knowing for a long time, and the message is pretty direct "don't get caught watching life pass you by".
Recycling: Doesn't matter how it's done, you better find a way to do it one way or the other if you have any hopes at it. There's a sense of relation in the lines "while you got it you figure why not launch off the very highest rope.' So that was pretty revealing and also being called a dope for not acknowledging past attempts at reaching out (see Afterburner, Cheap Treat, Faces in the Crowd, Jabberwocky, Last Night at the Jetty, almost all of Grim Reaper want being heard, only listened to.)
(edit: I understand how crazy a lot of this sounds, I don't have time to put all the details out there. I have thrown away the cork-board, as well as the stings and pins that link it all together. I am having trouble putting my music online. So in the mean time, I figured I would risk my perceived sanity, in order to give this album the credit it deserves.)

e: actually reading through some of these and it's not that funny. if you think the band is speaking directly to you about things you've done then i think you should talk to someone. it's good to love the music but staying well is important too dude

I used to fuck with amphetamines. Like meth-level stuff, back in the day. Sometimes I'd tweak and stay awake for 6 days straight and end up writing music or poetry, but this is far more incoherent than anything I ever produced. I hope whoever the OP is, is alright. This is some psychosis/schizophrenic type psychobabble.

Vertical: These guys pretty much have checked up on my life progress over time as I have recently found out, what I thought were ghosts or gods at times, turned out to be Dave and Noah Astral Projecting to wherever I may be.
Lying in the Grass: As much as I love the interpretation I read on there and I do think it lines up nicely. I think the tracks title has to do with trying to hide out rather than be more expressive and free-willing with things I make.
Burglars: This track is an acknowledgement of everything I have taken over the years via free download websites or YouTube. Its been something I have been trying to balance out and it will take a while to even out.
