Animal Collective have announced A N I M A L C O L L E C T I V E Camping Weekend, a two-day camping festival to take place September 23-24 at the Fernwood Resort in Big Sur, California. The band will headline both nights, with additional sets from Jessica Pratt, M. Geddes Gengras, WIFE, Winter, and the Range of Light Wilderness. Additionally, Animal Collective have expanded their previously-announced tour behind this year's LP Painting With.
Edit: I'm looking for an announcement apart from the articles published by a couple music journals in the last 10 minutes or so but can't find one. Maybe they'll tweet about it

Does anyone know when the new US dates go on sale. The myanimalhome page won't load for me for whatever reason. Definitely trying to go to the Orlando date and maybe the Jacksonville one too

They're likely updating it. Just wait around a bit, they'll probably formally announce more deets on the festival, and the ticket websites will update with when they go on sale.

yeah, this definitely isn't a festival. More like combing an after party DJ set and Tonalism.. And the fern wood, even if they've booked the entire campground, is very small. I'd imagine they're making a stage out in the forest for this (akin to the henry miller library).
I wish they would do a Collected Animals presale

Going to try and make it a vacation with my GF. Lets see if we can save enough money by then! Also pumped for finally having an Indianapolis show! I will do my best to record whatever shows we go to!

Big question is if they're gonna do any special sets or not. It'd be weird if they just played two painting with sets for the same people two nights in a row, nawmean? There's gotta be something goin down! Either way, I'll be there....gonna go in deep on a nice lil villa I can park in front of! Apparently lots of details per that shit

they've played 19 songs on this tour so far...and avey mentioned in an interview that they'll probably add more songs as the tour goes on...so they could probably play almost totally unique sets by septmeber

Seems like they'd have to, right? The passes aren't for single day so I can't imagine them subjecting the few in attendance to repetitive set lists....only way I see them playing same sets is if they do a thing where you choose a night to watch them/scheduling wise with whoever else ends up playing?? At their ATP event there were way more bands playing where you'd end up watching someone headline a night and then AC another...
Ok, dream show, one night painting with SECOND NIGHT avey n panda acoustic
I'd just walk into the ocean after their set!

With the limited amount of artists on the bill so far and a presumably intimate performing space, I'd assume that it'll just be the one stage without any scheduling conflicts.

okay, changed the title to avoid any further festival confusion.
This is going to be just like the Henry Miller show from 2009, except with onsite camping and a sweet lil pub/restaurant up the stairs along Highway 1. This is also where they held their afterparty for that concert.
this is a picture of phil lesh's son's band from last year at the fernwood
