Hey! I just have a pressing issue that nobody else could possibly care about except MAYBE some of you on CA

I'm just wondering about the albums AC has released NOT under the "Animal Collective" moniker (for mp3 labeling purposes, honestly),,, and I'd like confirmation on what exactly those names are:

Spirit is easy... it says "Avey Tare and Panda Bear" right on the cover.
But what about Danse Manatee? Is it really "Avey Tare, Panda Bear and Geologist" as it says on wikipedia?
Did they really release Campfire Songs as "Campfire Songs"?
Are there any others I'm missing?

Thanks!

I think that's all of them covered. I'd just rename them all as Animal Collective to avoid the ball ache.

I looked at the original p4k review of Campfire Songs, and while they referred to the band as Campfire Songs, they still mentioned it being an offshoot of Animal Collective. Did they already tour under that name or something? they hadn't released anything under that name at the time the review was written.

they toured in 2002 under the name animal collective I believe

but that pitchfork review is not contemporary to the release,
it is a review of the 2010 reissue

They have two reviews, one from 2003 and one from 2010. the 2003 one still talks about Animal Collective, and was written before HCTI came out.

Prospect Hummer was technically just "AC" wasn't it?

O, nvm, it's "AC" on the spine but "Animal Collective" on the inside cover

Yes Campfire was released under the band name, Campfire Songs. I know this because I found a first edition at my record store under "Rock - C"

Still cant believe it sat there for 7, 8 years before I came across it. The guy at the front desk had.No clue it was there.

As for spirit and danse, you are correct.

Any project released with at least two members of the animal collective is considered the animal collective [unless otherwise noted]

With that rule you could say that Young Prayer and Down There are animal collective albums because deakin produced them

Yeah I know, just being pedantic. I saw someone on reddit a while ago say deakin's role on down there was comparable to panda bear on STGSTV. Which is stupid.

Anyway, I'm just weary of blanket rules
