Didn't see a thread created yet for this show. I'll be heading up from Indy. Going to be bringing my audio recorder. Debating contacting the venue in advance about recording so I can get a nice spot, but kinda scared that they will tell me no.

Definitely looking forward to it. Been really enjoying seeing what the setlists have been looking like so far.

Went ahead and sent them an email to double check that audio recording was cool. Their site says no professional photo/video, but doesnt mention audio. Hopefully they reply with a green light

I hope it's kool with you guys that I secured Jimmy Mack to play on Saturday. ... I personally requested it to Avey if they'd include that song for the Chicago show and he said he'll make sure that song is in the lineup that night!!!

I'm totally down to meet,up before the show! ...I'm only coming from Tinley Park but I think I still wanna be in the city at like 3ish to get food and drinks and lots of smoke kinda thing. .hope the wether clears out by Saturday. ..

Far as why I requested is kinda personal in a sense. .first bc explaining why would be me putting out my close friends business to everyone and I feel like I probably shouldn't do that ... but for other side reasons. ..AC plus Motown is like holy fuck I can't believe it, kinda thing for me! I love that swing dancing heavy drum beat songs like that. .then add Avey singing to it....mind blown!
Plus I feel like unless they record it. ...they'll never play it again after this tour. ...and that'll be sick to have experience this! !! Kinda how I wish I was there when they did On a Plain. ..

also, thank you for thoughts regarding how this might be only chance to experience this, it changed my mind on it a lot
at first, it was kind of bittersweet news for me because this means one less new song from the album (or 7") and I basically want them to play everything lol
but you're absolutely right, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime kinda moment - the album tracks are much more likely to resurface at future shows

Thanks dude! I got a new recorder this time and I have gotten much better at EQing since those Thalia Hall Shows, so I hope I get a good boot out this time. I was praying they would play at Thalia since I know the venue so much better and I could just sit on the balcony next to the soundboard without much disturbance

I don't really think "sounds expand" was meant to suggest that they're gonna change the setlist. They've been posting instagrams for every show saying stuff like "the sounds continue tonight..." Also some ppl mentioned that it's pretty standard for them to keep the same set of old songs on the setlists during the first leg of a tour, but they usually add more old songs for future segments of the tour. It also makes sense because they'd have to practice any other old songs with Jeremy first before they could perform them (not to mention making sure they have old samples etc) and that'd probably be easiest to do on a break between tour legs
