Hello all!!! I will be at the Boston show tonight!! Who else is going? I'll be in my AC shirt with Bees on it so if you see me say hello! I haven't checked anything to do with the past two live sets so I'm going in completely blind. Absolutely can't wait!

Me too! I don't think I'll ever have another live experience even remotely close to what my wife and I had at that NH show on Saturday (right in front of the stage for the whole show, and we stuck around and got to talk to Dave and Noah for a bit after the show!), but I feel extremely lucky to be able to see them twice this tour. I'm excited for the Boston show because the Royale's more than double the size of 3S in NH, so I'm eager to see how different of an experience it is.
Either way, it's going to be a very memorable February 20th and 22nd for me. Hope everyone enjoys the show!

I'd love to go, but it's my fault for being 18 and not getting my drivers licensee or anyone to go with.
Hope y'all have a good time!
Maybe next tour!

How long did you stick around for? I waited like 30+ min to catch an autograph. Missed out I guess.

Very solid set. Interesting.
Anyone think they'll keep this same rotation of oldies (Alvin, Loch Raven, Bees, Daily Routine) for the foreseeable or add some new ones soon?

ya rlly sweet encore. glad to see Jimmy Mack wasn't a 1 time thing. if we didnt know it was cover and saw that setlist we would totally think it was jimmy raven lol.
wonder if raven/bees/alvin/daily routine are gonna be at every show... kinda wanna see em introduce at least 1 or 2 more old ones.. kinda feel like nyc shows are gonna be the same as this, but that way we'll get good boots of all pw tracks and these new/old ones..

I really really hope they at least keep up Daily Routine and Loch Raven for the next few shows because those are my 2 favorite animal collective songs and I'm seeing them in 2 days and seeing Daily Routine live is like my dream.

yeah, would be more exciting to have a couple more older tracks in the mix rather than the difference between shows being a shuffled setlist with certain PW tracks switched in and out

ya kinda seeming that way. its a reeeally solid set of oldies but i am interested to see if there will be more...wish we had a setlist compilation thread so i could look at the '11 tour... feel like they started that one just doing we tigers, summertime, and brosport but ended up adding more mpp stuff and peacebone and eventually dystw and purple bottle and wwiws later on... maybe this'll be similar in that they'll get used to variations on these sets til they get really comfy with it #speculation

I could very well see this being the case... Not a huge deal at all but I'm seeing them in ChiTown on Saturday so I figured I'd at least float the question.

ya just checked, in '11 they played the same 4 old songs (summertime, bro sport, we tigers and dystw) for a few months before they introduced a new taste briefly... and it wasnt til a year later then they started the '12 tours that they brought back my girls, also frightened, cobwebs, peacebone, and lion and eventually wwiws, purple bottle, and i think i can in '13 ala live @ 9:30....
so going off that these 4 might be the only oldies during his leg of it, but if they extend the tour than maybe more will happen? idk, speculation is fun for the live stuff... just stoked the ones they did choose to bring back rn are so amazing. good ratio of old/new too

pre-chz tour was all chz material, summertime clothes, brothersport, we tigers, and did you see the words, same set every show, same order. then late into the tour they added taste as an additional encore. peacebone/purple bottle/wwiws/other additions were not played till post-chz tour. but yeah it's possible that they'll add another old track or two

Yeah absolutely. I'm totally fine with these for old tracks. I absolutely cannot wait for Daily Routine...

ya, looking like they often start tours with like 4-5ish old tracks and slowly add to it.
looks like 07 tours started with hey light, doggy, rabbit, leaf house and we tigers (and the essplode/lablakely/fwx suite), and then around 08 they added chocolate girl and in 09 added slippi and banshee beat (which had just recently become "oldie" status in 09)
so ya will probably be these 4 for a bit but more to come eventually

loving the vibe of this set

I cant really see them adding more old jams unless jeremy is already that familiar with old jams. Tough to teach a touring drummer songs whe on tour.

Hey where do you guys go after the show to find those guys... I wanna meet Avey again.....this bitch stole my autograph ticket and I really want him to sign my shirt I'm going to make for the show!
I'm going to get roughly the same color shirt as the album and then I'm going to take the colors they used for Aveys face and splatter them all over like a Pollock Jackson painting! !!!

Yeah they usually hang in the crowd before their set and used to run their merch table. They always make an effort to meet fans after the show too.

Aw man, wish I could've stayed after but I had the T to catch so it was impossible. I did end up meeting Avey after the Portsmouth show but I was so tired at that point that I probably said five words to the poor guy... kind of wanted to apologize for being so painfully awkward.

i think that band musicians know that concerts and late nights can make everyone tired! Animal collective's members especially seem to understand and appreciate the actual ways that people are!
about other songs being added later, there have been so many interviews that i don't remember which one it was, but they described in one very directly that there will be more songs added throughout the tour! i think right now the songs are mixing in different ways that they are savouring it, enjoying and using it to get warmed up. there may be a different song or two now over the next few concerts!

I had some great discussion with them afterwards, talked to Avey about his choice to play Alvin Row after 16 years and why they're playing so many small venues in the tour. It was awesome to meet them! And now I have a copy of PW signed by them all

He literally just said that he felt Alvin Row "fit in" with the current group of songs they were playing. Also I think Jeremy's drumming skills definitely made it possible. He was putting in WORK last night oh lord
Also, there was no Vertical or Bagels in Kiev last night, which kinda made me sad, but beggars can't be choosers right?
