1. "Watch (watch) it (it) watch (watch) you (you) watch (watch) ing (ing) wretch (wretch)"
2. The (literal) bridge on Floridada
3. The end of Golden Gal
4. "Does this system matter? (Only if it's vertical)"
5. The sax sample in Lying in the Grass
6. The end of The Burglars
7. "Sneaky way eyay eyays"
8. "Strings tied to the hands (hands) hands (hands) hands (hands) hands (hands) hands (hands) hands (hands)"
9. The bridge in Bagels in Kiev
10. The piano in On Delay
11. The hocketing in Recycling (probably the best use of the technique imo)
EDIT: I only really just noticed that most of my favourite parts are the same as SpaceAnimal's whoops
Yes, this too.

First min and a half of verticle!!! Feels like a wonderful secret place being revealed to you its so fucking nice.
The sick beat claps on lying in the grass
Distorted high keyboard melody on Hocus Pocus
I really love the first half of the album way more than the second half. Maybe that'l change

The ambient passages in Bagels make me feel some type of way
The entirety of Hocus Pocus including the pitch-shifted chorus, and the melting vocals at about 2:00 minutes in, and the lyrics
The snakey farty clarinet/sax sample in LITG
The fact that there are like 6 or 7 parts to Burglars and it's only 2:44 long
and Panda's high harmony at the end
All the lyrics in On Delay
Both samples at the beginnings of Spilling Guts and Summing the Wretch
The bounciness of Golden Gal
EVERYTHING about Recycling

"Don't get caught watching, don't get caught lost"
The intro to Hocus Pocus, and the dinosaur growl samples
Gurgling dive bombs in the second verse of Hocus Pocus
I HEAR IT DOUBLY CLEAR, and then again at 2x speed
Outro to Bagels
Bridge of Recycling
When the beat first drops in LitG

Any particular reasons for this? or just because

Probably multiple reasons but, tbh, i don't really explain why i like music. I just do. Or don't. After Feels (my favorite AC album by far) and SJ, i started to dislike each new album a little more... except for MPM (i liked it when it came out because it's fun and very dancy...) but now i found it OK at best, couple of good songs, for sure, My girls, Daily routine...
Most of the songs on PW are too pop to me (i liked it with MPP because it was a new direction and i was in the mood for it back then, i guess), and lack epic, progressive moments like Daily routine or Turn into something can make me feel.
Most of the songs are boring to me (even a song like Floridada, i mean it's boring, uninspiring), like i said on W.CD, it was almost painful to listen to at times
Worst AC album if you ask me... that being said i can't stand all 4 first album either. It all started with Sung Tongs, to me. Maybe one day they'll go back to this kind of music.

guess it all started with sung tongs and all ended with feels, huh? Neat
My favorite moment on the album is easily "so turned on by the delay." unfortunately i find much fewer "moments" on this album than previous ones... maybe its the length, maybe its the relatively minimalistic production

this doesn't seem like the right topic in which to complain about PW and go on long explanations of how it's not as magical as feels tbh. i feel like the main topic would be a better place for that.
anyway, i have a lot, but i'm obsessed with on delay right now so here are all of the magical moments from it:
1. I HEAAAAAR IT DOUUUUBLY CLEAAAR
2. first on delay section
3. and it was niiiiiiiiiiice
4. the bridge-y part that goes "a place that's thriiiiice bessst"
5. panda's outro vocals
what a song

The entire f*cking thing is my favorite particular moment! But for the sake of specifics, on "Recycling":
1. The whirl-clamor intro
2. The synth-drop abstraction at 0:43 (absolute bliss)
3. The vocal melody - so jubilant/triumphant as a counterpoint to #4
4. The lyrics! Seriously, these are some of Panda's finest. Something so beautifully cathartic about the sadness/resignation as a counterpoint to #3
5. The playful tinkering arpeggiated outro.
Really, this track hits the spot as much as anything the lads have ever done.

Here's some of my fav details / choice lyrics:
Floridada - those intro drums get me so hyped
Pandy's background "oohs" during the verses
the bubbly, gargly synth during "flori-flori-flori--flori-florida"
THE BRIDGE BRIDGE
Hocus Pocus - “well if you’re out and about on the freeways this morning, nooooooo dinosaurs to worry about”
the echoey percussive element introduced at 0:19 reminds me of the Mr Noah Container Remix
the way the song explodes at "legalize this principle"
"so many WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYS
can't be a CRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMEEEEE
behind the DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPEEEE"
Vertical - basically everything about this one tbh
"did you hear the child say?
my feet can't cross the parking lot
the parking lot is way too hot"
Lying In The Grass - basically how this song prolly has the sickest beat on the album
I love the way the vocals intertwine from hocketing to harmonizing together and then back again
the "do-do-dooo" synth most prominent at 2:16
The Burglars - "I didn’t catch his name pow shot him on the range yow cause he was a burglar"
"BLOOMING TIPS ON TULIPS CONES THAT DON'T PAY OUT THEY KEEP ON GROWING COSTUME THIEVES WHO NEVER HAND BACK HALF OW WHAT YOU END UP OWING" - I would really love to hear them jam on this section live
Panda's vocals at the end "what you think youuuuu own
you dooooooon't
the buuuuurglaaaaaaars
Natural Selection - all of Panda's vocals on this one really do it for me
Bagels In Kiev - "These days I’m not so sure who is getting along or if they were before
I wasn’t there when Moses parted the sea I wasn’t there with you grandpop back in Kiev"
the lovely, floaty mid-section
On Delay - yes, that piano part
Panda's "I hear it doubly clear" after "the sound coming after"
Spilling Guts - "take a guy
an everyman
must be glad
well off" - and the spinny flourishes that kick in here
"takes some time
to waste a guy
must be mad
ok"
"take the hit or take the fall
fall back"
"only those that get into the way
way way back"
Summing The Wretch - I just really love how propulsive and percussive the instrumental track of this song is
"getting screwed not much to do"
Golden Gal - the percussion track on this - to me it gives me a vibe of a junkyard band banging trash can lids and shit together
the harmonized "golden gaaaaalll"s
live spoiler:
Recycling - dat bassline

I really like the FloriDada chorus. Even though it seemed like a lot of people had mixed feelings, I really liked it.
In Hocus Pocus, I just like the hocketing. So man-y ways...totowaitwaitbebethethelineslinesborderborderususfromfromthemthem.
In Vertical, I like the drum beat, the robotic voice at the beginning, and the chorus.
I kind of like Lying in the Grass. The bouncing back sounds pretty good there.
The Burglars was the one I was most excited for and it's so high-energy, especially once it starts to pick up pace. I don't really like the background Panda voices once it's all ramped up though. The ending is just amazing and I think we all can agree on that.
I haven't heard much about Natural Selection, but it's probably one of my favorites on the album. I really like the vocals on this one, especially the chorus.
Bagels in Kiev...Probably the beginning honestly. I like the Moses and grandpa line, and the middle part is pretty cool.
The "I HEAR IT DOUBLY CLEAR" line in On Delay always makes me think of the bathroom FLACs moment when one of the people on here made a post where they said how they were in the bathroom and they could hear it. Now we can hear it doubly clear. It's a fun song and I like that.
I like the Spilling Guts robot voice in this one, and towards the end, I think some marimbas play and I really like that little bit.
I don't think much happens in Summing the Wrench, but I guess the hocketing I like. I know it's overused and all, but I do like the sound.
The Golden Girls sample at the beginning of Golden Gal is pretty great, and I like the whole song overall.
I haven't really gotten attached to Recycling. I honestly don't have any favorite parts on it. I guess I'll just have to listen to it more.

i rlly like the fldada bridge..
and vertical has this really nyc/brooklyn-yvibe i like that is hard to explain, reminds me of early live taste, i picture them doing that funny concert where theyre pushing one of them around in a shopping cart
in burglars i REALLY like the beginning line "Happens in the parks boohoo even in the old days stinking of the burglars/ Happens in my home I never see it coming"
and "Probably driving your car with someone/
Close up your head cause are they reading your letters come on pack up the bed for betters"
that whole song is so sweet. i get this slasher-y feelsy moonjock-y vibe but its also something new for them...
"strings tied to the hands/ hands upon a mouth" in NS
all of OD... so sick... "two licks of the dog bone, you running ahead of, the sound coming after." and the split up "Natural slap the world back at ya it’s placing the mirror and you will hear her". and when panda first comes in with "andale" his voice sounds so good... and that kazoo-y bass/piano break everyone likes...
bagels is the sweetest most soothing texturally on the album for me... very sweet vibe, and like how the song kinda sounds like a jewish folk tune or like kinda tin pan alley ish
right when spilling guts comes in blows my mind and the whole song just rides this great energy "spilling guts, spilling guts" makes me feel like im in a video game level where im riding a mine cart thru a cave and an avalanche just started or something, but im still good...
StW might be m favorite use of hocketing
recycling is beautiful... the melody takes some really wrenching turns... pandas voice is rlly great on this one. and aveys hocketing vox are more soothing... rlly peaceful vibe... almost kinda like selfish gene but also way different..
perfect album..

The bingo bongos that rev up The Burger-lers always gets me hyped.

AND PANDA'S VOCALS AT THE END

AND Avey's delivery of "I never see it coming"...
The whole song just lights me up!

I guess I'll just have to listen to it more.
i love this review

I love this line for some reason
I didn't love it at first, but when I add in the "did you hear a child say..." before it, I really like it.

the assonance in this part of golden gal is pretty great
Golden gal
I’ll be beside her
I might want to
stand in line
to find the
kind of mind
she can provide
