When do they usually drop the announce for the Pitchfork Fest in Chicago ?? Does anyone remember? Gotta be soon, no?

Last year they announced it in early February. Hard to tell if Animal Collective will be playing this year. They're playing Primavera in June which leads me to believe they'll be touring overseas this summer. But I really have no clue.

Brian Wilson is playing shows in Indiana on the 15th, and Iowa on the 17th ... and AC's tour (including Primavera) ends beginning of June .. Idk ...I guess I'm totally hoping for those two to headline Pitchfork this year

wouldn't be surprised. Just hoping they aren't playing Lolla

I hope so too. But if they play Lolla on the same night as Radiohead plus another cool band, I'd probably try to go

Lolla 09 was still fun even if their set was mediocre. Pitchfork 08 on the other hand was a blast!

I noticed this too. They usually have an AC act on Friday and initially I figured it would be AC which is awesome but then I thought oh shit wut if it's da Deak mon?!?!

AC would be a sweet headliner, though it would be their 3rd time doing it. we'll see if they want to bring them back again.

Man so excited for the Chicago show. I wonder how early I need to get there. I've waited in line in for long times outside Chicago in February before and it's definitely not fun. The sucky part is what to do with layers of clothing. Small price though.

I've been wondering the same thing... I was planning on bringing some in with me as well
I've never been to this venue either, but I did some searching around and based on the yelp reviews of this place it seems like security is pretty tight at the door (looks like someone was shot here years ago and have obviously tightened security since), but security seems pretty lax about smoking once everyone is inside. multiple people wrote complaining of weed and cigarette smoke
anyways, should be easy to sneak something in in yr underwear or shoe or something if you're comfortable

we should organize a board-meetup in line or something and scope out a good place to stand where we can all toke up during the set (or at least whoever wants to smoke can...no pressure!)

I plan on lining up considerably early, and based on my research looks like there's a coat check for a small fee (bring cash - make sure you have singles)

Ya we should meet up for sure! !! I'm taking the train there from Tinely Park. ...kinda a bummer I'm going by myself, so it might mean the world to meet up with someone sometime around like 4,5,6 and smoke and have a drink or two before we walk in! If anyone's down let's exchange numbers!!
