AC collaborations

Earlier today I was listening to Another Green World, which John Cale collaborated on, and thought how damn cool it was that he's collabing with AC. Him and Colin Stetson were a left field move I can jive with. And it got me wondering about all the other collaborations they have done. I remember they had Kria and Eyvind Kang for Feels, anyone else on other stuff? Phil Lesh, haha. Side projects have provided some awesome stuff; Slasher Flicks is a fucking super group, haha. The stuff with Black Dice is fucking awesome too. Sonic Boom. It's so cool to see the musicians I dig digging on each other! What would be some cool future collabs? I always wondered what a Fridmann produced AC record would sound like...

I have FOREVER dreamed of a Super Furry Animals / SFA / GRUFF RHYS collab

call it... Super Furry Animal Collective!

:x

call it Bread!

maybe Crispin Glover feat. Charles Manson (live via satellite / internet in jail!) and Donald / Danny Glover and Eric Stoltz, Billy Zane, DAVID BOWIE... Mary Lynn Manson / Brian Warner / Brian Wilson / Brian Williams / and uhm... The Manson / Danielson Fambly on Electronics!

and some ducks!

some additional collaborators that Animal Collective has worked with are Arto Lindsay, Heather McIntosh (cello on Graze and Bleed), and Vashti Bunyan. As solo artists, they've done so many other collabs with a bunch of other talented people like daft punk and atlas sound.

As far as future collabs, I'd love to see them work with a minimalist artist like Terry Riley or Phillip Glass. Brian Eno would be sweet. So would Four Tet

Haha Crispin Glover. Shit! That just reminded me of their glorious collaboration with Michael Winslow!!!! Why isn't he on Painting With, huh Avey??? How could I forget about Daft Punk and Atlas Sound too? I didn't know about the cellist, that's cool. I don't think I even noticed it in the songs, haha. I'll give em a relisten

Lonnie Holley

Definitely agree with you on the remixes being semi-collaborative. The Tinariwen, Kocani Orkestar and Kasai Allstars remixes are great examples of this

Also didn't someone say that Deakin was supposedly asked to remix or collaborate with Yoko Ono? I wonder what came of that

One time live show Josh did with Jah Division in New York. No boots.

Let's count Jane (Panda and Scott Mou)
Together: Panda & Rusty Santos (live only)

Geo & Deekin!

two members of the former Animal Collective collabing together but not as AC!

even though AC is spozed to be 2 to 4 permutations of anyone

I guess that doesn't include THOSE 2!

sad!

it almost as if they mean 2 being JUST avey and panda with POSSIBLY a 3rd and maybe 4th!

never 5th!

but then deekin / 1 person can be "AC" when it comes to a remix

it's some sorta damn loophole!

i'm sure dan deacon was behind such things too!

seeing twinkles. i think it's unfair to say that they weren't credited as ac because nobody was being credited as ac when they recorded it (i think it's from danse era maybe? i'm mixing it up with forest children risen)

I would die if AC worked with Eno, but there'd probably be too many ideas floating around for the album to even get finished.

Been listening to a lot of Yo La Tengo's 'Sounds of The Sounds of Science,' which was used to score 8 different underwater short films, much like 'Coral Orgy'

Which got me thinking; a collab between those two bands could be really interesting. AC could provide more of the electronic soundscapes and YLT could provide some badass grooves and they they'd meet somewhere in the middle to create some beautiful melodic noise rock

God, I'd love a Xiu Xiu collab.
I always thought Here Comes The Indian era AC and A Promise era Xiu Xiu would work great together.
And both bands poppy era's would work well together...
