Is there a definitive answer on what "Sung Tongs" means? I always assumed it was "Sung Songs" but a friend was saying something else.
Any insight?

Tongue Songs is what I always thought, too.
I do vaguely remember reading something about how they we're referring to the songs they were making for the album as "tongs", and they were making tongs and playing "bones"(rimshots) on the record...Just using their own slang I guess. Therefore, the tongs were sung.
Sung Tongs

I like the theory that they just stuck their tongues out and said "Some songs"
But I also always assumed that it was Tongue Songs letter-swapped. After all they make a lot of weird noises with their mouths on the album

"Some tongs were written and sung by Avey Tare and Panda Bear."
Looks like I didn't read it in an interview, I read it in the vinyl! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves.

So they calld their song "tongs" and then sung their tongs. sung tongs. got it.

that doesnt really disprove it. they coulda started with tongue songs, then swapped, then went with "tongs" as the name for songs or something. not tryin to be all devils advocate, youre prob right, but it's not definite proof is all.
sorry i feel like that sounded all dickish but i'm not tryin to be

I also love how it says "...and making sound with bones." and the whole background is a bunch of bones
