Favorite Subtleties

what are your guys' favorite subtleties in AnCo music?

I really like the huhs in the background of little fang in that little breakdown part right before it breaks back into the chorus.

Also, LOVE the very quiet echo that avey has on fireworks for vocals.

What about you?

Pretty much all of Sung Tongs. From the "christ..." in We Tigers, to the very quiet "dut, dut, dut, dut..." vocals doubling the guitar in Whaddit I Done, to PB's backing vocal "wa-a-a-a-a-a-t-e-e-e-er" in Mouth Wooed Her...so many amazing noises hidden in the background of that album

The coughing and laughing samples in Street Flash are also great

I too am curious about the bowling pins, never caught that

Another favorite is the sample of kids screaming at the top of a roller coaster in Bros

The way the drums change slightly at two (or maybe three) different points in Loch Raven.

The way Taste is like two different songs. I more often find myself singing along to Panda's bit.

Obvs the crowd noises in Benfica.

That middle section of Street Flash with the warbled vocals. Some of my favourite AC lyrics in there.

When avey screams ALIVE and it kinda alternates between two notes.

Also, the washing machine noises in the beginning of daily routine

That's a stock owl hoot from a music library for movies and TV shows. You'll hear that exact owl on a lot of different videos.

this kinda seems like the same thread as AC moments so I'll just repeat my fave thing

when noah accentuates his T's

example: in NTB.. "leave my ligh-TUH, light on.. ligh-TUH, lift this weiiighTUH"

Sorry if it came off like that. I was hoping this could be a discussion for the little details while I thought AC Moments was for parts of songs that people liked. :|

The hocketing on that album is sweet. Would love to see it done between Avey and Panda on the next AC spin.

Going off of that, kind of... I always thought the voice in the background of "Summertime Clothes" around 1:40 sounded a lot like Deakin. He wasn't there for the album and wasn't credited, but maybe he contributed a little from afar, like Geologist on Water Curses? Or Avey's vocals in Bro's? Come to think of it, that is another of my favorite subtleties.
Probably just wishful thinking. But I like that vocal sample either way.

So I could be wrong about this as well, lol. I thought I had read somewhere that he contributed vocals to Person Pitch, and I always assumed it was at 6:35 in Bro's. But now I can't find that article and I could be wrong about all of this... I like the subtle vocals y'all okay.

Huh? Do you mean Prospect Hummer for Geologist? And Avey did a remix with Eric Copeland (Terrestrial Tones) of Bros...he isn't on the actual song at all.

edit: the sample at 6:35 is saying "tonight's the night that I'm going to ask her" from a song called Rub A Dub Dub by the Equals

Hahaha. It's cool man :) there are so many AC releases with varied personnel that is can be hard to keep them straight sometimes

I really liked the end of Turn into Something, that part where Panda says something in a shouting like manner (i don't know what exactly), but then there is the mild piano in the back ground when he says that and from then on out the piano shifts into the forefront along with some geo samples. Its at like 4:40 in the song.

the "you know those red moments" sample? Did we ever figure out where that came from? Regardless, there really are no secret Josh vocals on MPP or FBK haha.

I thought it was confirmed to be josh at the beginning of bleed, but I guess that ain't it.
Now I am curious.
I remember when I first got fbk, and I played it fast on my record player to hear the voice better, and it really does sound like deak.

Whoaaa at 1:27 in Unsolved Mysteries, at the first "who could look, at me, with the one eye", I just noticed the extra background vocals there for the first time. Or maybe it's a sample - the voice that bounces back and forth between the left and right speakers. SJ on good speakers is really incredible
