Hi everyone, I'm new here!
I wanted to create a topic discussing AC's music videos.
I'm not sure if a thread like this exists. (I skimmed, but didn't see anything)
I really like most of them! I think my favorite would be Who Could Win A Rabbit's
For the songs and albums that don't have music videos, I like to visualize them in my mind!
When I listen to Sung Tongs, I imagine most of the song's music videos being similar to WCWAR, very playful and silly!
Sweet Road makes me think of the band playing with a bunch of kids on a barn or in a forest.
Daily Routine off of MPP gives me the picture of Panda Bear waking up and, well, doing his Daily Routine. (I know they aren't that type of band, it is just my imagination)
Those are just a few of mine. How about you guys? What are your favorite music videos by AC? And for the songs that don't have music videos, how do you create them in your mind? Or better yet how would you direct them?
Sorry if this topic is stupid or already exists.

Music videos are typically the things I avoid when it comes to AC. I find that, by and large, their quality and production style feels off-putting and bizarre. Oddsac is wonderful, though not technically to do with music videos. My Girls, Bluish, and Peacebone are the exceptions in my mind.

I like the brosport vid, the bluish vid, wcwar, and peacebone is great as well. Of the more recent vids I liked the monkey riches one a lot.
Didn't like today's supernatural really, and applesauce was pretty disappointing considering how much money was spent on it.
I don't really envision/imagine videos for other songs too often, but here's one my friend(ethmin on CA) made that I think is great.
make sure to go high qual!

who likes My Girls vid?? It's cool up until it goes from the green melty vibe to that geometric orange/red vibe.... the second half is just a weird questionable look for that song...and it's just like a bunch of dumb squares all of the sudden
all their vids are just kinda of cool, but I'd prefer to close my eyes and listen ne day

Bluish is cool and pretty but I can't help but associate it with the fact that the audio is mono on the YouTube video

Anyone who disagrees that Who Could Win a Rabbit is AC's best video is objectively wrong
I remember thinking the My Girls vid was cool when my friend showed it to me before I ever listened to the band

There's always been somewhat of laughable irony to me between how utterly visual AC's music can be and just how poorly conveyed their visual components compliment their music. While both Abby and Danny have captured large aspects of AC's characteristics through stage design, album art and video graphics, no one has yet provide a visual aesthetic that is a complete companion to AC's sound, unlike artists like Björk or BMSR.
Granted, this can be seen as a positive thing for two reasons. One being that the complex and psychedelic nature of their work makes it difficult to pinpoint an comprehensive visual interpretation, and the second being that their lack of success within the visual arts department seems to add humility to the band - as if they're still that group of guys making music for themselves in their mom's garage (which they sort of still are, which paradoxically makes their naivety for art seem genuine and a true expression of their sound through image... so a sincere success, if you will).

I love Danny's You Can Count on Me video. Guys Eyes is one of my favorite videos too.

Seriously right?
Not only did they shorten the song, they cut out arguably the best part of the song which only happens 3 times(the "staaaaaay, whats in my waaaaay" repetitions) down to 1.
And the idea behind the vid is so cool. "a tribute to surfers lost at sea", so its a bummer that I usually don't care to watch it again because the butchering of the middle of the song is just such a let down.

I'm not really that into AC's videos, but it's probably because I don't care much about music videos anyway.

that the song would be shortened or somehow different for the music video doesn't bother me. i don't think, anyway. i would take them as two different things, and be happy for/with each.

That's cool that you can look at it that way cyclone. But its just a huge buzzkill for me personally every time I watch the video. I just wish they shot more sweet footage instead of cutting out part of the song.
